Was the Beautiful Lie a 10 show?
Wikipedia tells me ABC.
What’s new on 10 Play for August:
Water Rats S1-6 (1996 -2001)
Water Rats is currently available on 7+.
Leverage S1-5 (2008 – 2012)
According to Wikipedia: A revival of Leverage is slated to begin filming in late June or early July, 2020 in Louisiana, with most cast members returning.
Murder Call S1 -2 + telemovie
Murder Call aired from 1997-2000 on Ch9.
Kingdom S1-3 (2014 – 2017)
Kingdom is also now available on Netflix, though I’m not sure in which territories.
Secret Diary of a Call Girl S1-4
Secret Diary of a Call Girl is also currently available on 7+.
Why 10 Play and not 10 All Access? Does AA only have CBS content?
They would make more money from 10 Play, plus SVOD contracts are a different type of contract.
Further to what @Seriously said, 10AA carries other programming too from other distribution other than just CBS - though it does make up a vast portion of their library.
A few examples:
- Almost all local content (26 shows approx)
- Jamie Oliver’s various shows (Freemantle)
- A Million Little Things (Disney-ABC)
- Beecham House (Freemantle International)
- One Born Every Minute (Endemol Shine UK)
- Leaving Neverland (Kew Media)
- Rules of Engagement (Sony Pictures Distributions)
Not directly relevant to what I posed, but thanks.
Thanks Killy, I don’t usual stream content unless I’ve missed something from the network which does not happen that much. Have used 10 Play a small handful of times and not interested in the pay for content model.
I think it answers your question as to why it’s on 10 play, as they can likely monetize content on their BVOD service which would have a bigger audience then 10AA.
Also noting that this content may only be on 10 play because the BVOD rights were available, rather than SVOD which would allow them to add to 10AA. The contracts would be quite different, it’s likely the one for a streaming service would cost much more.
10 hasn’t typically picked up additional content for All Access, rather relying on existing CBS content as shown on the US version and then adding shows from the 10 ecosystem where possible.
Home and Away in 2006 was made in HD or was it just widescreen we got in 2001?
Anyway how come Thank God You’re Here isn’t in HD? Was it not filmed in HD?
Not all programs recorded in widescreen are necessarily in high definition. Could have come down to the budgets of the time on how much they could afford to spend on equipment.
10 play isn’t in HD.
Wasnt this a US thing?
no, US SD was 4x3
10 Play Boasts Its Biggest Year Ever.

Network 10’s General Manager – Digital, Liz Baldwin, said: “10 Play is on a roll! We’re so pleased that the hard work and investment we have dedicated to the platform is resonating so well with audiences.
“As audiences continue to look to complement their linear viewing with a premium digital experience, we will continue to look for new and innovative ways to meet this need. We have a lot of fantastic plans ready to share over the coming months. Watch this space.”
In May, 10 Play launched a new advertiser and consumer experience on Telstra TV which included a new Premium Pause advertising product. In the last month, new advertisers including Volvo and Drakes Supermarkets have partnered with 10 Play on the premium product. They join eBay, Mitsubishi and Dell who were announced at launch.
The new product offers brands a high-impact engagement opportunity, beyond mid and pre-rolls, in non-intrusive environments.
Network 10’s Digital Sales Director, Sophie Hicks Lloyd, said: “The incredible work that Liz and her team have put in to improve and re-shape the 10 Play platform across all devices to such success has certainly been noticed by brands and advertisers. We’ve received such great feedback on the content available, the experience and the ad opportunities.”
Since May 2019, 10 Play has achieved, on average, double digital year-on-year revenue growth every month.
Sophie continued: “The Sales team has worked hard to take clever, creative, targeted solutions to our advertisers which solve brand problems and deliver against objectives, further feeding the success of 10 Play.
“There is certainly a buzz in the market about the platform and we can’t wait to reveal more over the next few months.”
That’s correct and HD was 16:9 , was interesting setup but it was to sell the HD channels to get everyone to buy those HD or had set top boxes.
An interesting addition to 10 play.
Do you think that was part of the MS contract?
I doubt it, more likely that it featured Pete Helliar and HelloFresh probably have some agreement - similar to it being on the KIIS website.
Aussie Drama on 10 Play.
