TVNZ 1 News Tonight returning to our screens on Monday.

With the assistance of a VPN, I’ve been able to watch Breakfast in full for the first time. Seems like I picked a good morning to do so.

This sounds familiar!

First up, i apologise for my despicable rant the other night. It was completely uncalled for and I should not have said what I said, and for that I apologise.

Nevertheless, I do still stand by some of what I said, namely that TVNZ is now full of shallow narcissists who care more about their personal brands than actually doing their jobs, as is evidenced by how nearly EVERYONE on screen there, even the small time reporters, have a stupid little blue tick next to their names on Instagram. It’s not verification at this point, it’s just an ego thing, and it needs to stop.

Our old mate Woodpecker… on steroids.

Good lord.

He just doesn’t get it.

Without wanting to cover old ground, presenters and reporters don’t get Instagram to build their personal brand (maybe there are some exceptions), they use it for the same reason, you, I, the plumber down the road or the accountant the street over use it. Because it’s a good place to put photos and connect with friends or others. I don’t get how this is so hard to grasp for him.

Simon and Wendy back together for the first time since March tonight.

Simon did the 1pm Covid presser introduction and Wendy the 3pm one.

Seven Sharp still in the alternate studio.

I have become quite used to solo presented bulletins for 1News at 6pm and wouldn’t mind it if they stayed that way really.

Has One News Gone Back To There Normal Intro?

Nope. There’s now a level 2 intro.

Priceless… ahem.

Good to see 1News Tonight back, even though there were still some graphical errors! :joy:

Hard to believe that Sydney and Melbourne are both larger in comparison.

Confirmed today that Jenny Suo will become the newsreader on Breakfast from Monday with Anna returning to Fair Go.

Any reason why, was it only temporary? I thought Anna was quite good and worked well with the team?

With all the presenter changes over the last couple of years, you would think they would try for some consistency.

Only temporary, came about through their reshuffle of teams over Covid.

Jenny-May is filling in as the main host on Breakfast bow with Hayley away on indefinite leave after the sad death of her baby.

Anna (Who is great imho) was due to be heading to America to become the US correspondent and I imagine still will when it becomes safe to do so.

Great to see another useless change in the TVNZ office… Jenny replaces Anna on Breakfast and Anna replaces Jenny on tonight. Confusing huh… Maybe Anna got fed up with the 3am alarms!

I wonder if it is the preference of Jenny to take a morning news shift when it is available over her usual late night role? It does seem odd to see someone with a permanent presenting role filling in so often on breakfast.
