No, only Tas because it can take Ten News reports. More so before when one hour composite bulletins were being produced.
Which is why we still have that now empty orange coverupâŚ
If you look at older caps youâll see WIN News using the same lower thirds as Nine previously, makes it easier as Aurora pointed out when running stories from the main affiliate
I mean OTHER than Tasmania. I havenât seen any other markets use Nine or Tenâs lower thirds anywhere. Can you point me in the right direction?
In that case, no!
All the other markets are using the âstandardâ WIN lower thirds because theyâre not making composite bulletins. Which is why Iâm surprised TAS are still using the TEN ones
I guess time comes when WIN News Tasmania either closes its studios and move production to Wollongong, or just replace the lower thirds with the current one used by WIN News across other markets to match the scaled-back local bulletin which has once been a composite hour-long Tasmanian one.
Tasmania would still be using Ten-type supers because on weekends it is still a composite bulletin with Ten reports + graphics shown.
They donât show the weekend edition of Ten Eyewitness News and their bulletin runs 5.30 to 6pm.
Underneath the WIN News bug, you can see abit of Tenâs graphic that changes from âFirst at Fiveâ to the Tenplay website address:

Slight differences for WINâs actual copy supers:

Why doesnât WIN News Tasmania put the âTasmaniaâs Newsâ tagline on that orange strip instead of leaving it blank?
When they were still doing a composite bulletin on Weekdays, that strip had âFirst at 5.30â in it:
Also, canât they just use the tagline âYOUR LOCAL NEWSâ on weeknights?
That would explain it then!
Wish they would at least fill that orange bar though
We know. He was mearly pointing out what could be used to stop it being a box
Or why donât they get rid of it altogether?
Um⌠because it covers the âFirst at Fiveâ element of Tenâs graphics when they borrow stories.
WIN News Sunshine Coast with Lincoln Humphries
After about 20 years with Win Queensland, Paul Taylor has joined rival, Nine Network, to front the upcoming regional bulletins as QLD sport presenter.
Wow really??
Canât they just get rid of the first at 5 bit though
Itâs not like Ten have any other bulletins that they need to disambiguate from (Morning News, Late News, etc.). Their only news bulletin is at 5pm, so they donât need a little subtitle; ABC, Seven and Nine just name their flagship bulletins with the plain news brand.
And I was just saying that Ten donât really have a purpose for it as its their only bulletin.
WIN canât get rid of it, the stories pulled from Ten are dirty feeds. WIN keeps the dirty supers uncovered (and uses Tenâs supers for local stories to match) but covers the Ten Eyewitness News logo and âfirst at fiveâ mark.
IIRC, they have at times put âfirst at 5.30â in the orange coverup. Sounds odd when you say it, but I suppose itâs better than nothing.
I think I agree, they are the only ten news program, and they also canât say that itâs the first news out of the channels (nine, seven etc.) because non as 4pm news, so, yeah, it is rather pointless
