WIN News (2015-Feb 2025)

Because they have about 15 bulletins to put to air in the same timeslot…

Far as I’m aware the Tasmanian bulletin is live from the Hobart studios.

Makes sense, since Hobart is only procuring one bulletin.

Is one of the Queensland bulletins still aired live? As far as I understand QLD, NSW and VIC bulletins are each presented out of a different studio (going from various social media posts NSW/ACT is studio B, VIC is studio C and QLD is studio D) however since NSW/VIC share a sports presenter across 9 markets obviously only one would be able to be live.

But for Queensland having their own presenting team surely they would have a (Sunshine Coast?) bulletin that would still go to air live. Or is it now a case of all intros being pre-recorded and just spliced together?

No bulletins out of Wollongong are live. Everything is spliced together nowadays. Tasmania is the only live WIN News bulletin.

they could all be live, but then a pre-recorder sports segment is slotted into the bulletin.

Without knowing the more technical side of things at WIN News, I wonder if the Opener for the Illawarra bulletin might still be played out live though?

The reason I ask is because from what I’ve seen, the Opening graphics appear to be native HD in the Illawarra while they’re upconverted SD in other regions (which only have studio-presented segments as native HD content) which have their bulletins produced in Wollongong.

For a costumer he’s poorly dressed…

why is it always that, there have been many instances around the world where it has been spelt, costumer. I it is not acceptable, if it was costimer or costpmer then yes, becasue they are directly next to the “o” on a standard qwerty keyboard, but “u” has the “i” in between it and the “o”. No excuse!

No, it’s unexceptable. :stuck_out_tongue:

Tasmania report shown in local bulletin and All Australian News. It seems that for All Australian News they redo the supers to be in the format the other WIN News bulletins use. I remember that when WIN was affiliated with Nine, the Tasmanian reports in AAN were not changed from the Nine style they used.

  1. WIN overlaying new supers for AAN shows that they don’t have to be lazy and could do it to the Tasmanian bulletin
  2. It’s bugging that all AAN needs is to remove that yellow line from the watermark and they have standard supers
  3. More bugging that AAN still uses the old package title card.

Do WIN cover up the Ten graphics in Ten Eyewitness News bulletins, or was it a stipulation of the affiliation that they didn’t?

They don’t cover up the Ten graphics.
In Tasmania during the week, they take a direct feed from Eyewitness News Melbourne with no coverups, while on weekends, they do a composite bulletin with tas+national news. They don’t air the direct national weekend news.
