I doubt they would. SCA spent much of the previous decade avoiding any mention of Southern Cross naming on-air.
Thatâs fine, so if thereâs a new channel, whatâs going to happen with the former HD Demonstration for Southern Cross 10? Will it keep on Network 10 or will it move to Channel 7 for new channels?
Why is it always the VAST and data casting channel threads that have the most backshit crazy theories ![]()
Most likely nothing. 7 is definitely not a new channel either.
Are you looking for the HD demo loop? Because it is on YouTube so you can watch it whenever you like.
I also am looking for the VAST Scenic Loop. I also like to watch it for 2 hours straight.
Yes, but thereâs a VAST Scenic Loop on Regional News, if you have VAST, youâll find it via Regional News in 12:00PM to 6:30PM. If you have VAST, let me know and send a video of it via YouTube (If you have one account or just send one to MediaSpy in this article only)
This is a complex question:
If transmitters that got caught on fire (Like Mount Alexander @ Bendigo), will viewers have temporarily have access to VAST (except if they can reach reception in a different transmitter (Kyabram can reach Bendigo and Goulburn Valley transmitters))
@Marko_Zanghellini a lot of this info is easily findable with an online search.
IIRC, and from the info I can find, VAST isnât a system you can magically tap into.
The closest comparison for Bendigo and surrounds would be remote travellers (caravans, houseboats, etc) who can apply for six-month access but would need their own mobile satellite equipment and VAST set-top-box which is pretty expensive.
Even the cheapest DIY dish I can find still comes in at $900. I canât see people fronting that cost for a temporary outage when the networks have their streaming apps on smart TVâs and online for free.
Happy to be corrected by anybody more familiar. This is from a few minutes of searching online.
Very simple answer. No.
The cheapest Satellite Dish I can find is $85. But the cheapest decoder I can find is $275. Total: $360
Sounds about right. But thereâs also installer costs, or a stand if you want it on the ground like travellers do.
Thereâs a video made by Prestel Jake for how to set up a satellite dish for Foxtel, VAST, Optus Sport etc. on YouTube, so itâs possible that installers are out of the menu.
Good luck. Itâs a lot harder than it looks to point the dish at the right spot in the sky. Satellite finders make it easier to know which satellite youâre pointing at (unless itâs one of the whistle ones), but it still isnât easy.
the good news is that if you were previously a foxsat subscriber you can just plug in a vast box into the outlet, get a travelers rego and youâll be good to go
Are there any VAST boxes that have free to air plus?
If you mean Freeview Plus, yes:
Yes, but mainly Altech UEC (DSD5000, DSD4921 PVR)
???
