Lifetime has announced that it has cut all ties with Abby Lee Miller after accusations of racially insensitive comments were made by various Dance Moms cast members. She won’t return if the show gets renewed.

Additionally, Lifetime will not move forward with Abby’s Virtual Dance Off that has begun production.

In light of the nationwide protests over George Floyd’s death, new episodes of Live PD and Cops have been pulled from the schedule.

Wrong. Aired in the UK as well.

If you think its just a US problem, then you are very misinformed.

Cancel culture has gone ape made. The Black Lives matter has done more damage in two weeks then it was original goal, now all these axings are just aobut fear and supposedly “racist” behind the scenes issues with cast members (which can’t be proven or not unproven)…

Now Live PD has been axed as well.

Madness…:o: Not surprised i knew it was just coming around the corner. I understand why they did it though.

We all get it. But censorship doesn’t do anything and can lead to a slippery slope. Are we now going to remove any show/movie that might offend someone?

That’s where it started, but it has become a whole lot more than that, including (but not limited to) the systemic racism, bias and injustice that people of colour are subjected to (and not just in the United States). Its also moved into areas of reform (especially with US police agencies)

A lot of the application of the “cancel culture” have been to things that are either overtly racist or are taking advantage of the issues I highlighted above - just because they were acceptable in a previous time doesn’t mean they should have been acceptable in the first place or are acceptable in the future.

Some of the shows and movies that have been removed from circulation will return, some won’t - that will depend on the content. This isn’t censorship.

Broadly speaking the “cancel culture” is a long-overdue reset of our collective moral compasses (and not just in the last fortnight)

To be honest, bad luck - you shouldn’t trade on the back of racism and systemic bias.

The looting is another issue entirely and I agree, it shouldn’t happen - but we have to live with the reality that it has.

Its clear that no-one here is going to be able to post anything to change your opinion, but thats not going to stop me from calling out some of the absolute dribble you’ve posted, which is made easier by the complete lack of interest you’ve shown towards other peoples opinions.

Well thats a first - I’ve been called many things before, but a sad leftist is a new one.
