If Nine successfully challenged the courts over WINs claim that Streaming = Broadcasting…what is stopping Hulu from setting up shop in Australia to stream US channels directly to Australia? Cause it ain’t broadcasting.

Hulu could do that but they currently have the rights from the production studios to stream the programs in the US only. The studios have sold the rights in Australia to someone else - like FTA networks, Foxtel or Presto.

Criminal Minds has been renewed by CBS for a 12th season, but the future of its spin-off Beyond Borders is still unclear.

The Amazon motor show hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May now have a name: The Grand Tour. Still no airdate yet.
CBS has renewed Life in Pieces for a second season.

TV station makes the news:

According to Reuters, CBS and Discovery Channel will air new programs against NBC’s coverage of the Rio Olympics. CBS will debut a scripted series about politics by the creators of The Good Wife, and will also show new episodes of thriller BrainDead and mystery drama American Gothic against the Olympics. Discovery is bringing back its popular series Naked and Afraid XL, a reality show where contestants must survive in the wilderness for 40 days with only one or two items.

Good news… CSI: cyber has been axed by CBS. Hopefully ten can now piss off airing any more episodes of this shit on the main channel.

In other news, ABC has axed Nashville after four seasons. Supergirl has been renewed for a second season, but will move from CBS to The CW.

Shows being cancelled in the US has not stopped Australian networks from showing them here  - even premiering them after their cancellation was known. Latest example that comes to mind is Odyssey.

Lots of cancellations and renewals!
ABC
axed: Nashville, Castle, The Muppets, Marvel’s Agent Carter, The Family, Galavant
renewed: American Crime, The Real O’Neals, The Catch

FOX
axed: The Grinder, Bordertown, Grandfathered

CBS
axed: CSI: Cyber

Agent Carter was one of my favourite shows. I’ve seen the two seasons online and was looking for its broadcast on 7flix.

Well grinder shouldn’t get main channel coverage here then. And Boarderotwn wasn’t that good.

Also…Life in pieces was renewed and we are yet to see it. Not a bad little show and ten are not even bothering.

Out of the new shows commissioned, I think that the MacGyver reboot will probably get the most headlines here.

NBC has cancelled Mysteries of Laura (last shown here on Nine) and ordered a spin-off of The Blacklist called The Blacklist: Redemption for the 2016-17 season.

NBC seem to have some good new shows. Looking forward to watching the Good Place (big fan of Kirsten Bell) and This is us. They both seem to be good. Taken should be a sure hit for the US.

CBS has axed Rush Hour after just one season and renewed Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Code Black, The Odd Couple and Undercover Boss. Also axed was House of Lies with the current fifth season to be its last.

At the upfronts CBS reveals that Michael Weatherly drama Bull will be sandwiched between NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans on Tuesdays in the new season. NCIS: Los Angeles moves from Monday nights to Sunday nights and the reboot of MacGyver will be shown on Fridays.
