US Television

Match assignments will be announced in the coming days.

Fox also began airing the first (of many) promo spot that may or may not have leaked the scoreboard for the tournament.

They’ve also opened up an incredible opportunity. Not sure how the logistics will work for the week of concurrent matches - two monitors or a split-screen one?

The winner will be announced on the biggest baseball game they have, NYY-BOS.

TCM will air Gone with the Wind this Sunday ET as a tribute to Ted Turner.

I think they need to air the Turner Doomsday Video in tribute to Ted too…

No they don’t - there’s a better doomsday video:

Lawyers representing an ABC station have accused the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of punishing the network for political purposes in a strongly worded attack on the Trump-controlled commission’s investigation into the top-rated talkshow, The View.

In a legal motion filed on Thursday, KTRK-TV, a Houston-based local television station owned by ABC, pushed back strongly against the FCC investigation, accusing the purportedly independent agency of taking actions that “threaten to upend decades of settled law and practice and chill critical protected speech, both with respect to The View and more broadly”.

Schedule announced for the tournament from June 18-21. Very minor changes include shifting of NBC’s Friday window 30 minutes later and NBCSN makes appearances.

Expect significant challenge from Fox this year though, especially 2-5pm ET on Friday (USA vs. Australia). 2014 may come calling.

In the last two editions, the midnight national airing was a rebroadcast (or pre-taped if not broadcast earlier right after the final match) of FWC Tonight.

Would the audience prefer serious analysis or whatever else this alternative is trying to do?

Oh dear god. They’re letting him back on US TV?

This will go down as the worst World Cup ever.

Interesting. Would ABC be broadcasting every MNF game as they gear up for SBLXI?

No. ESPN are required to have some exclusive MNF games to fulfil cable/satellite/IPTV provider carriage agreement obligations.
