The Oscars post a 18-49 rating of 10.4 on Sunday, down from 10.8 last year. Its total audience of 34.3 million was the event’s lowest since 2008.

ABC drama The Family had a modest debut on Thursday, with a 18-49 rating of 1.5 and total audience of 5.74 million. I think Seven has the rights to the show.

Downton Abbey has ended its six year run on PBS with 9.6 million tuning in for the final episode, the show’s fourth-largest US audience ever. The show still has a few episodes to go here on Seven.

Medical drama Heartbeat, starring Melissa George and Don Hany, had a good debut on NBC on Tuesday, with a 18-49 rating of 1.4 and 6.3 million total viewers, second in the timeslot behind NCIS: New Orleans.

The season finale of The Walking Dead did very well on Sunday, pulling an 18-49 rating of 6.9, its best rating since the fall finale last November. The episode was watched by 14.1 million viewers.

The second last episode of American Idol attracted an 18-49 rating of 2.2 on Wednesday (just ahead of Survivor on 1.9) with 9.7 million viewers.

American Idol ended its 15 season run on a high. The last episode pulled an 18-49 rating of 3.0 and a massive 12.94 million viewers, just below The Big Bang Theory (13.24 million viewers, also with a 3.0 rating). Fox easily won the night.

6 Seasons in The Walking Dead manages a 9.1 after +3 ratings are included and over 18 million viewers. Massive. Can this show continue to grow?

Season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead pulled a series low 18-49 rating of 3.1 on Sunday, well down on the show’s premiere (4.9) and season 1 finale (3.4) last year.

Supergirl finished its first season with its equal lowest 18-49 rating of the series (1.3) with 6.11 million viewers.

The Good Wife bowed out on Sunday after seven seasons. The last ever episode attracted a 18-49 demo rating of 1.2 (just shy of Family Guy) but with a big audience of 10.47 million.

Mike and Molly, and Castle both had their final episode on Monday. Mike and Molly finished with a 18-49 demo rating of 1.6 while Castle ended with a rating of 1.3, a season high.

Caste will be missed. End of an era.

The remake of Roots mini-series had a good debut on Memorial Day, attracting 1.8 million in the 18-49 demo (which translated into a 1.4 rating). It was watched by 5.3 million viewers across four channels (History, A&E, Lifetime and LMN).
It will be shown here on SBS later this year.

Aquarius started its second season with a two-hour, commercial-free premiere on Thursday, a night dominated by NBA Finals. Aquarius got only a 18-49 demo rating of 0.4 for its efforts.

Sunday night viewing was dominated by the deciding game 7 of NBA Finals between Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, and Game of Thrones. The NBA grabbed a massive 18-49 demo rating of 11.3, the highest-rated NBA game on ABC, and the highest rating for any program since the Super Bowl in February. The total audience of 31.02 million was the highest for an NBA game on ABC. Game of Thrones had a 3.6 rating and 7.66 million viewers.

Person of Interest finished its run on Tuesday with a 18-49 demo rating of 1.0 and 6.46 million viewers. The rating was in line with much of the season.

The season finale of Game of Thrones pulled 8.89 million viewers on HBO on Sunday, which is a new record for the drama and up on last year’s 8.11 million. The episode’s 18-49 demo rating of 4.3 is also a new record.

The second season premiere of Zoo posted the show’s lowest ever 18-49 demo rating of 0.8 on Tuesday. The double episode was watched by 5.14 million people.
