Given they moved Belinda on from hosting the weekend show, it seems like they didn’t think she was a good fit. Belinda’s great with the fun stuff on Today Extra, but Sylvia is a good fit on today. She’s also more familiar for the weekday audience.

ABC also said Today Australia in their article, probably meant to differentiate the show from the US version? (obviously) or just a direct copy from Wikipedia.
