100%. Weekend Today should be the main fill-ins. It would also help the audience to get familiar with the weekend team more.

In December 2019 with Tom, after Deb had finished up (Georgie left as soon as they announced Karl was coming back).
She hosted with Karl in June last year for 3 days while Ally was sick (plus half of one more when Ally went home early).
And then she hosted one week over summer before Karl and Sarah returned, with Alex.

I prefer Sylvia or Leila over the others they have got in the past. Both are strong fill ins and have that wicked sense of humour and off the cuff remarks to swing back to Karl when he needs it.
Shame we don’t see Sylvia ever fill in on daytime/Sydney bulletins. She’s a strong presenter.

I know it gets mentioned every time, but gee that was a good looking set. I think it was also one of their best looking graphics packages in recent times as well.

Wasn’t a fan of this graphics package, especially with the wild mishmash between 2D (supers) and 3D (fullscreens/titlecards) elements.
Set was amazing though.

Silvia reported unwell at the start of the show. Tim is in Philadelphia PA and Richard Wilkins was in for John Farnham’s health update. We had another crime crisis of the day.

Totally agree that the weekend team should be filling-in on the main show, but I also think Sylvia and Leila are very strong presenters.
