Imagine how distracting he would be if he was in the light
The last few days, ticker is looking more and more like the mainstream media organisations, really pushing Murdoch style news.

If that’s the case, we’re in great company with The Age, even the ABC reporting the story. It’s a big story which impacts business. If the curfew wasn’t called for by health chiefs or police, then by who? The Premier literally opened his press conference talking about it.
It’s also quite selective choosing on your behalf. Go through the rest of our twitter feed today and you’ll see plenty of different views, including my interview today with Sarah Hanson Young about Rio’s debacle. Or how Trump’s been caught out lying in an interview.
Bias is often in the eye of the beholder.
Only thing I don’t agree with in that post in the spelling - sent it to the team and had it removed.
Is this a joke?
@Ahron loved Ticker Media today. Would love to see this put as a half hour format. You and Rob McKnight (@blackbox) work very well together on air.
Sorry, I don’t follow. Also, are you ok? You don’t say much positive about anything on this site, or twitter for that matter.
I’m great. Thanks for asking. And for the record, there’s plenty of love from this site about the posts I make, but sure.
Thanks, yeh we were chatting about how it went too quickly.
@Ahron Justed watched Ticker Media, loved it, definitely could be longer, some fascinating points about Ten News, keep up the great work. Just one thing, thought your audio was a little off compared to Rob’s.
The right logo animation happens way too quick, it switches between the logo and the “Streaming News Now” every 3 seconds. I would slow it down to do that every 10 seconds. It’s very distracting.
@Ahron I could see something like The Ben, Rob and Robbo Show working in a late night slot on a multichannel like 10 Bold. I know it’s an online operation, but are you expanding into the free-to-air space?
I loved Ticker Media and would love to see it expanded. Even with possible interviews with Industry players.
The ABC unfortunately are now doing as it’s told. Are you reporting on the journos recently let go by the ABC for standing up against the government? No. Every media organisation has its agenda and Ticker is no different then the mainstream media unfortunately, even if it try’s to market its self as “different”
I respectfully disagree, but I have a feeling there’s not much I could say that would change your mind.
The BR&R Show is produced by McKnight Productions and so that’s probably a question for Rob, though he seems pretty happy having it on Ticker.
As for Ticker content, I’m not really interested in FTA. I don’t watch it and not many of my friends do either. That’s the point of Ticker. Creating content for where people are watching it now. Not stuck behind TV towers or Satellites.
So for Studio 1, it animates every 30-60 seconds. And anything broadcast out to the world is that way too. It’s only for programs on Studio 2 uploaded directly that it animates quickly, but will get it sorted. It was the source file we were given originally by the designer.
TV has a million parts.
@Ahron have you thought about seeing if you could get Ticker on the Fetch TV Platform? Would definitely increase your reach and they dont have a local news channel (besides ABC of course).
Hey @Travis we chat to lots of people all the time. Watch this space
We’ve got a big week ahead with a new Sydney reporter joining us, crossing to Cheddar’s White House correspondent, adding some more regulars and the Vic Opposition leader joining me.
Compared to the US where they’ve got Roku and many other smart devices to play apps on TV, Australia really only have Fetch and smart TVs. The future really is in apps for broadcasting.
Yeh the US has heaps of internet based streaming options that sit between broadcast and cable. We’ll get there, and Ticker will hopefully be their first port of call to have an Australian locally produced news channel.
