The return of Back Roads made the top 10 for ABC on Thursday with 563k. That wasn’t far behind the BBL that almost made it to 600k to be prime time’s top non-news show.
Nine’s A Night With Novak made the top 20 averaging 276k. That compared to 2023’s national rating of 300k while 10’s one off documentary The Truth About The Skinny Jab just topped 200k.
That saw Seven with an easy win over an underperforming Nine and and overperforming ABC.
Later, ABC’s Long Lost Family was down slightly to 389k; Seven’s Cricket The Spin got some healthy late numbers with 327k while 10’s movie managed 136k.
News numbers continued to be good for early in the year as Seven posted a +100k win at 6pm, but Nine’s afternoon news was 80k ahead of Seven’s with Tipping Point +80k ahead of The Chase. A Current Affair was up to third place in the rankings and over 900k. Meanwhile, 10’s bulletin had its best Thursday rating in over 12 months.
The Adelaide International was down to 101k after averaging 280k on Wednesday; perhaps the main channel tennis cannibalised the audience.
