The AFL Finals Series began last night with Qualifying Final delivering a Collingwood win over Adelaide. The average audience was just under 1.1 million to easily become the highest rated game of the season so far. It was also well up on the equivalent game in 2024 that averaged 773k.

The result helped Seven its highest Thursday share of the year, though the results for each market varied greatly with Adelaide delivering the highest share of over 57% to Seven.

Meanwhile, the final round of the NRL got underway. Thursday Night Footy saw the Broncos defeating the Storm at home with the game shown on Nine’s main channel along the east coast to a season-high average of 846k.

On 10, the second episode of the new season of Gogglebox Australia was down 60k to 472k while the Law & Order Season 26 Final had 194k. Back Roads on ABC was down 50k against tough competition to 419k with Grand Designs New Zealand down 50k as well to 326k. The season final of Great Australian Road Trips on SBS managed 131k.

Seven News was the number one show of the night and 40k ahead of Nine’s bulletin. AT 5pm Tipping Point managed another big with by a margin of 170k. Deal or No Deal averaged 250k after 10 News+ had 133k

Sunrise, meanwhile was 90k ahead of Today at breakfast.
