Nine posted a narrow win on Thursday, just 0.4 ahead of Seven in another low rating night though ABC did well with its second best Thursday share of the year.
RBT was the top prime time non-news show, just ahead of Home and Away and Bill Bailey’s Wild West Australia that was up 70k from its debut episode.
Border Security on Seven didn’t offer a lot of competition but it beat 10’s second part of Mirror Mirror that disappointed and missed the top 20, dropping +100k from the first episode. That saw 10 with no top 20 entries for the night and its lowest Thursday share since July. The appetite for Todd Sampson’s documentaries seems to be waning or perhaps there was enough info in the first episode that a second part wasn’t necessary.
Later, Emergency had the edge over The Front Bar that saw just 281,000 tune in for a look back at the year in sport. That compares to 293,000 for last year’s show. Grand Designs was also competitive on ABC.
Earlier Seven News won all markets at 6pm. Nine that had its lowest Thursday rating of the year in Sydney with just 160k. Before that The Chase at 5pm outperformed Hot Seat at 5.30pm – the show’s lowest Thursday audience of the year.
