Thursday NRL saw a thrilling golden point win by The Storm over The Panthers on Nine’s main channel along the east coast. The result produced a season high average rating of 804k, up 80k on last week’s high. The result helped Nine to an easy win also helped by 9Go!’s Bond marathon that continued to produce good results with another top 30 entry.
Seven’s main channel in Melbourne showed Round 1 of this year’s AFL Women’s season with Carlton v Collingwood followed by West Coast v Gold Coast for a late 11:15pm finish. The games rated 221k and 125k respectively. The results compared to 178k and 146k for last year’s season opening night. Elsewhere it was a 3-episode Home and Away marathon where episode one had 750k dropping to 646k for episode 3. Clarkson’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire UK followed at 8.30 with 248k.
On ABC, Back Roads visited Mataranka and was up 70k to just under 500k while Griff’s Great American South in Birmingham AL had 323k to be up 50k from the previous week.
10 added the season 5 final of The Dog House Australia to its Thursday schedule with 325k, up 25k on last week’s Airport 24/7 final. Law & Order: SVU had 194k with Deal Or No Deal on 235k.
Great Australian Road Trips was in Tasmania’s West Coast rating 214k while Into The Amazon With Robson Green had 121k.
Seven News had a narrow 2k win at 6pm after Tipping Point was 160k ahead of The Chase at 5pm. A Current Affair was over one million and 130k clear of ABC News at 7pm. Earlier, at breakfast, Sunrise with 385k saw a narrowing of its lead over Today to 75k. 10 News+ managed just 120k down from 142k last Thursday.
