In the season finale of The Weekly, Charlie is joined by the stars of the new ABC comedy Bad Company, Kitty Flanagan and Anne Edmonds, plus Rhys Nicholson, Margaret Pomeranz and Alexei Toliopoulos.
With today’s announcement that Charlie Pickering will take over from Ali Moore as host of ABC Radio Melbourne drive, and continuing to host TGIF on ABC Radio Melbourne and Sydney, he will be super busy in the second half ot this year. I wonder what it will mean for the future of The Weekly?
The announcement says he will continue to do The Weekly and The Yearly.

I am hearing there are internal issues at The Weekly between Charlie and the other producer. This may explain why he’s taking the radio gig and why we may not see it back next year.
Charlie will return in 2027.
