THE TWELVE SET TO PREMIERE TUESDAY JUNE 21

Gripping new 10-part FOXTEL Original event series premieres Tuesday June 21 only on FOXTEL

THE TWELVE premieres on Tuesday, June 21 at 8.30pm AEST. Available to watch on On Demand on FOXTEL and on FOX Showcase.

FOXTEL today announced court will be in session on Tuesday June 21 with the world premiere of FOXTEL Original series THE TWELVE . The official teaser trailer and character art for the new 10-part “event” series has also been released providing a sneak peak into the highly anticipated courtroom drama starring Sam Neill ( Jurassic World: Dominion, Thor: Love and Thunder, Palm Beach ), Marta Dusseldorp ( Wentworth, Stateless, A Place to Call Home ) and Kate Mulvany ( Fighting Season, Lambs of God, Hunters ).

THE TWELVE is gripping courtroom drama that tells the story of 12 ordinary Australians who are selected for jury duty in a murder trial as traumatising as it is controversial, in which a woman stands accused of killing her teenage niece.

Behind the façade of their anonymity, these twelve ordinary people bring with them their own histories. Lives that are as complex as the trial, full of fractured dreams, shameful secrets, hope, fears, personal trauma, and prejudice. Through the multiple lenses of these jurors, audiences will see the fragility and imbalances of the law, and the chaotic and flawed way we attempt to determine justice in our society.

Over ten episodes the limited series will explore the lives and loves of the people who will decide the fate of the accused, their histories, their conflicts, their families, their secrets. This includes a gentle suburban mum whose husband’s adoration may be hiding coercion, a builder torn away from his responsibilities, a star student struggling with being a role model to his indigenous community, a chronic gambler with money problems and a brash millennial plagued by traumatic memories. The values they bring and the challenges they confront will shape the different ways they react to the unfolding trial.

The cast of THE TWELVE is one of the biggest ensembles of any series ever produced in Australia and also includes: Brooke Satchwell ( Mr Inbetween, The End, Ride Like a Girl ), Brendan Cowell ( Avatar 2, Game of Thrones ), Pallavi Sharda ( Lion, Save Your Legs! ), Hazem Shammas ( Safe Harbour, The Hunting, The Secrets She Keeps ), Ngali Shaw ( RFDS, Ben 10: Age of the Multiverse ), Jenni Baird ( A Place to Call Home, The Secrets She Keeps ), Matt Nable ( Mr Inbetween, The Dry ), Damien Strouthos ( Wonderland, The Tourist ), Louisa Mignone ( Wentworth, Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries ), Catherine Văn-Davies ( Amazing Grace, Hungry Ghosts ), Nicholas Cassim ( Mr Inbetween, The Secrets She Keeps ), Daniel Mitchell ( The Moodys, The Jesters ), Gennie Nevinson ( Muriel’s Wedding, Between Two Worlds ), Bishanyia Vincent ( RFDS, Bump ), Toby Blome ( Privileged, Danger Close ), Warren Lee ( Eight, Legacy ), Susan Kennedy ( All Saints, Home and Away ), Coco Jack Gillies ( Mad Max: Fury Road, Doctor Doctor ), Silvia Colloca ( Van Hesling, Nerve ), Hamish Michael ( Janet King, Rosehaven ) and Ben Mingay ( Frayed, Amazing Grace ).

The 10-episode crime drama commissioned by the FOXTEL Group, is produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia in partnership with Easy Tiger Productions with major production investment from Screen Australia in association with FOXTEL. Financed with support from Screen NSW. The series is distributed globally by Endeavor Content. Executive Producers for the Foxtel Group are Brian Walsh and Penny Win.

The show has dropped on Binge. Great news. I thought it was only for Foxtel like Wentworth was.

It’s been good. I’ve enjoyed it. Not sure how they could do a second series though? Just a whole new cast?

One of the best local productions ever! The ending though, IMO was a little bit rushed. I’m no fan of the Murdoch “Empire” but Foxtel has made some really good local drama (and comedy) so kudos to them.

I have just finished watching this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was probably 2 episodes too long, but was really enjoyable. It had me guessing up until the last moments of the series as well, which is unusual for a mystery series. It didn’t have the typical ending as well.
