Well shame is 10 is just tossing The Project staff out after some of them have been there for many years at the network - hopefully they, along with behind the scenes staff, can find other work in the industry

Yes, given BTL has yet to be officially announced itās a tad messy but thatās the general gist.
Agree hopefully some of the crew will move onto the replacement show but the rumour is the new show will be made in Sydney so there will also be job losses from the Melbourne studio.

I think The Project has had a pretty good run and ample time to prove itself as a serious competitor against Nine and Seven. Despite generating plenty of headlines and viral moments over the years, it has never translated into strong viewership.
Yes itās sad that staff will loose their jobs, but thatās the reality of working in the media industry in 2025.

Sounds like Roving Enterprises contract finishes up on the 14th July. From memory thatās a similar date the show launched in 2009.
I believe Sarahās contract might still have another 5 months with the Network. I think sheāll be picked up by Seven or Nine. I could see her co hosting weekend Today in 2026.

I wouldnāt take anything The Daily Fail says seriously as the extent of their journalism is rumour, speculation and occasionally reading online forums and the occasional newspaper. It seems The Australian arent much better.

Listening to @blackbox on inside Media, it sounds like part of the issue is that all project material belongs to Roving and not 10. If I was 10 Iād be looking at the option of buying the format and bringing it in house.

It would allow them to make changes, but also to use the footage from the show on our platforms.
Far too late for that now I think.
Depends what the asking price is thoughā¦ if they canāt come to terms makes some sense in the current climate to get as much production in house as possible, with or without the project, so they can monetize it.
I think itās also creative differences between Rove and 10 who wanted to take the show in different directions, Rove wanted more comedy, 10 wanted more serious news.
