The Project (2020-Feb 2025)

I don’t think axing the Project would be a smart idea. The amount of offensive stuff on Channel 10, well you might as well axe the whole network then! :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously though, I don’t think they should have apologised. I am a christian, did I go to my local church and threaten to ring channel 9 that i am going to church more to protect my jesus from jokes? LOL people joke about christianity all the time. Roll with the flow. Embrace the hands of the booms of god and let them touch your soul mate. :stuck_out_tongue:

What Waleed and Sarah said in their apology.

They have nothing to replace it with unless they put Neighbours at 6.30 and primetime at 7pm.

What’s that saying? “idle hands are the devil’s work” do these people have nothing better to do?

At least it’s giving the show publicity but I have a feeling the media are just out to get Sarah. I mean she’s getting blamed for the whole thing. Not the joke teller, not the other panelists. She is allowed to laugh at a relatable joke! She was nearly nailed on live TV too!

My personal fav is the DM headline of “a high profile channel 9 star slams Sarah” then in the article its that muslim guy from The Block that won by not so honest ways.

IMO this is Christians pent up rage over World Pride and MG directed at channel 10.

I don’t think it has anything to do with those events. There are certain groups out there who are triggered by anything they see on The Project. Certain parts of the media know that and create clickbait stories online to stir them up and get more views.

I don’t think there was any need to apologise, but if you are going to, perhaps it should have just been a tight shot of Waleed. People are going to find it hard to accept the excuse that they knew it was inappropriate when Sarah was clearly laughing (fake or not) at the joke the night before. It comes across as hypocritical and insincere.

Yeah I agree on the no apology its just putting fuel to the fire there’s something to carry on about. Kate laughed but they wont go after her cause she doesn’t give shit about cancel culture and if they went after Rueben then theyre homophobic, so lets go after the white attractive lady.

I hope they watch this on Gogglebox

Why?

Because that’s the point of the show and this would make for interesting commentary, surely?

More than 13,000 have signed an online petition to Cancel The Project. That’s a lot of signatures! Surely will reach 20,000 in no time.

The show’s social media posts are being spammed with the hashtags #CancelTheProject and #BoycottTheProject in what is a seemingly organized effort.

I didn’t find the comment/joke to be very good either…But then again as if a stupid petition is going to actually have any influence on whether the show continues. It’s up to the network.

Adam Lambert will appear on The Sunday Project this week, the day before his performance on Australian Idol results show.

LOL. :stuck_out_tongue: If you think that is going to make a difference, then you are kidding yourself.

The petition is now aiming for 25,000.

I tend to think that the reason for the petition is not only Reuben Kaye’s joke, but also the controversies the show had created over the past two years.

Utter bullshit. Another time when she decided that she needs to be the centre of attention in something with nothing to do with her. A complete nutter.

I know. I was such a big fan. Front row at all her shows. Now I can’t even follow her or listen to the podcast anymore. Way too much.
