The Project (2020-Feb 2025)

According to Peter Ford on 6PR Breakfast this morning, he expects Peter Helliar to leave of his own choosing, and Waleed Aly may leave but will stay with Channel 10 for another project. Pete also said he’s hearing the Sunday night show could be axed and they’ll stick with weekdays only so the panel is more consistent.

Damn. All the regulars might be gone.

Regular hosts Monday to Friday are a must.

Scrap the Sunday show and kick off reality shows at 7pm instead. Having the Sunday project on until 730pm has allowed other networks reality offerings to get a jump start.

With Chrissy Swan and Kate Langbroek no longer having radio commitments, it’s a huge possibility one or both will become regulars.

Chrissie is doing 2-4pm weekdays on Nova next year.

if the aim is to aim for a younger audience, I don’t think any of those are a match

@David is this the one?

Yeah.

LOL. You trust him as a credible source?

Sam has made it clear she is not going near these live formats again. The media will have the pitch forks out if she front this, and she knows that.

Doyle is too serious for such a format. Sales is contract with the ABC and has said she doesn’t want to work past tea time (which is why she left).

Don’t forget this is Melbourne based also. Please Please just no Denyer.

Knowing 10 it will most probably be Denyer (and Brown, Morris, Osher or Beau).

In fact that’s worse vs Denyer. The bloke just loves himself. Bit like Shirvo over on 7🤮

Peter Helliar announced near the end of tonight’s episode that he is leaving the show too, confirming Peter Ford’s prediction. Helliar said he had two weeks to go on the show.

So that’s three of the show’s longest presenters gone.

P.S. tonight’s episode finished at 7.35pm.

Another one, wow.

May as well end the show if everyone’s flying the coop.

What are the chances of Waleed staying on now? Pretty slim right?

Waleed said that he will be sticking around, “one man at a desk, who knows?”

No need to end the show but it needs a reboot and i wouldn’t be surprised if some personnel are being “encouraged” to move on, rather than flat out axe them, to make that happen.
