Eddie McGuire announced on Triple M this morning that The Footy Show Grand Final Edition will air on the evening of Wednesday 25 September from 8.30pm, in order to avoid a clash with The Front Bar on Thursday.
The live show will start at 7.00pm at Rod Laver Arena, but will air on delay after The Block.

Yes it did. I guess Nine execs got nervous and didnât want to take the risk. They will also have a Friday night Grand Final Preview show with the cast of The Sunday Footy Show. Hopefully this doesnât clash with a Melbourne Storm preliminary final though.

Grand Final Eve
The Sunday Footy Show steps up to prime time to deliver the final word on the biggest game of the AFL calendar. Hosted by Tony Jones, alongside Billy Brownless, Matthew Lloyd, Nathan Brown, Kane Cornes and Damian Barrett. The Sunday Footy Show panel will have the latest team news, analysis and irreverent banter on the eve of the Grand Final.
Especially since the AFL is pretty much a niche affair in Sydney & Brisbane anyway.
Even if the Giants make it to September 28, the real footy Grand Final in the eyes of most Sydneysiders (even if itâs Raiders v Storm) will be on October 6.
The actual AFL Grand Final broadcast always rates well in Sydney, but all the peripheral programs featuring people largely unknown in Sydney would always rate poorly.
Yeah, fair point. Any AFL Grand Final game broadcast with the Giants playing would probably rate well in Sydney (especially if the Sydney ratings of past AFL GFs featuring the Swans are any indication), but not really any of the lead-up shows.
