Ten Sport

Isn’t that what it was when they moved ONE from being a 24-hour sports channel? They still had sports content but added general entertainment to it.

Yep. This was exactly One was like from April 2011 with a mixture of sports and general entertainment. Will work for 10 Bold.

I don’t think bolstering 10 Bold with additional content is a bad thing, be it sports, entertainment or other programming but it has to be economically viable for them too if the ad revenue is there to support it.

Getting the channel in HD is a must however, 10’s gotta keep up with the Joneses.

Don’t think there would be any further uplift in audience to justify the added expenditure. Plus, it would put a dent in the ViacomCBS distribution payments from Ten from broadcasting less of their content.

Put it on 10 Shake and boost that. 10 Bold is established and doing well, no need to fiddle with it (other then trying to get a few more procedurals to replace the many… many NCIS rpts).

If you want to put it on Shake then you’d might as well scrap that channel and start over. Sport is completely out of its demographic.

Not the worst idea. The primetime lineup on 10 Shake is pretty lacklustre apart from Saturday nights and the channel itself does need some re-focus for primetime. Right now it’s a super niche channel after 6pm and the shows are all over the place.

Is it though? The Office and South Park sound like shows that appeal to middle aged men to me… isn’t that who watch the majority of sports?

I liked it when ONE was a mixture of entertainment in primetime but sport during the day

Is 10 now been run by CBS again…? Not Viacom in London?

They’ve moved the leadership of international free to air back to the US under some viacomCBS executives in New York. That Mary Kyriacou woman isn’t running international free to air anymore.

Great news! When did this happen?

A few months back. I can’t remember where I read it though.

It can’t air on 10 Bold because of it’s W-League commitments. However, don’t know why both NBL games or even 1 NBL game followed by the weekly W-League game can’t air on the main network.

The partnership will see the NBL return to Network 10 for the first time since the 2014/2015 season.

Adam Cush, Director of Sport Production, Network 10, said: “We are thrilled to welcome back the NBL to Network 10.

“We are looking forward to working closely with the NBL to take the sport to all Australians and broadcasting a fantastic season of the league, which also boasts several of the Australian Boomers Olympic bronze medallists.”

Hungry Jack’s NBL Owner and Executive Chairman Larry Kestelman said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Network 10 back into the NBL family.

“Network 10 played a major role in the NBL’s booming popularity in the 1990s and we are thrilled to have them back on board to help take our league to the next level.

“This season is shaping up as one of the best yet notwithstanding the challenges ahead, it will be great to welcome back the numerous Australian Boomers Olympic bronze medallists returning to the NBL, marquee signings and the inclusion of the Tasmania JackJumpers,” Kestelman said.

“We are excited to have Network 10 as part of the NBL family for the next three seasons which gives our fans a consistent free-to-air home of the NBL.”
