Well either Herald Sun is too slow to report, or 10’s publicity department didn’t do a good job promoting the show.
Only on Facebook, just started uploading on Youtube and 10Play, never mentioned on 10 Sport Twitter or Instagram.
Episodes are on 10 play too.
Looks like 10 is using the set used for the 2017 RLWC for their supercars coverage
2019 Rugby World Cup set as 10 didn’t have the rights to 2017 Rugby League World Cup. Seven had the rights to that.
I know- it is the same set
Here’s a picture of the side of the set used this weekend for the Supercars coverage.
On Kate’s Instagram story there is a couple of videos, and some of the panels from The Morning Show’s infomercial set can be seen so I don’t think this is coming from any of 10’s own studios.
And that’s a perfect example of what I don’t like about 7’s sports coverage - which they do all the time.
We know, it’s on 7, we get it, so instead of subtlety putting your logo there, they squeeze the logo on screen as many times as they can (I can count 5) and one of them is huge.
It’s over the top and cheapens it.
Supercars announced this morning that Bathurst 1000 has been pushed back to the weekend of October 17-18, and will serve as the finale of this year’s championship.
They have the Albert Park race next year.
As well as 2022 for the Australian Grand Prix.
Very surprising if this is the case, given that they seemingly want to exit all sports and focus on entertainment.
Perhaps they see it as critical for building momentum during the summer?
Or they see it, (noted, this would apply to when it was solely owned by CBS), as a told we would do a better coverage than the others that’s why we wanted it! Kind of F You moment.
I reckon this has merit
If 10 didn’t want sport, why did they look to resign Rugby?
Ready. Set. Go!
In just under two months, the Melbourne Cup Carnival is returning to 10 and this year, everyone has a ticket. Sure, this year’s nation-stopping race will look a little different but all the excitement, glamour and spectacle associated with Australia’s most-loved sporting event will be back – along with the best sport commentary team in the business.
With everything going on with Seven, Channel 10 would be in the running to regain the Big Bash broadcast rights. Assuming that Fox Cricket retain their rights (along with their commentators) it would leave Ten scrambling for commentators/presenters for the Big Bash.
One option that they could look to do is what they did for soccer internationals- hosting from a studio and taking the Fox feed or they could take their own coverage like what Seven did.
Roz Kelly is the only member of the old BBL presenting team still at Ten.
If they want to use Channel 10 talent in house, Stephen Quartermain could call matches as could Lachy Reid or the extremely left field option of Gordon Bray. I doubt Andy Maher would leave Seven to take up the BBL role however didn’t he do the Front Bar when he was still covering matches for Ten (although now he is doing BBL matches for Seven too)
If the current deal with Seven goes down the drain, Ricky Ponting, Damien Fleming and Lisa Sthalekar will all be without a job so could return to Channel 10 to be part of the coverage. You can then add a rotating suite of current players to be the ‘third person’ in the box alongside as a special guest role.
Not really left field at all, he called cricket when the ABC had the regional test rights.
If 10 are making money off I’m a celebrity for 4 weeks in January why would they pay millions more for BBL for 6 weeks of sport? They’ve probably given up sport to monetize entertainment and return on investment is more. 10 is all bean counters these days
Understandably, 10 is going with a Melbourne-based duo to present their coverage of the Melbourne Cup Carnival this year:
