It’s ironic because some of the complaints I heard about The Project is that there’s too many serious stories and in-depth reports making people tune out!

7pm primetime is a no brainer.

Let’s see how long until they start doing supermarket stories and washing liquid comparisons.

If they don’t do that, it’ll be a game show hour by next year.

Ironically, moving news 5:30-6:30 and putting Deal at 5pm would improve flow significantly

Remember Derryn Hinch… Hinch at 7, aired 1988 to 1991 until he was fired. Hinch revived by 10 in 1992, many speculated like has happened here that it would be gone in a few months. It lasted until end of 1993 before being sacked for allegedly not being appalling enough and replaced by Alan Jones - this lasted a short time.

Will this attract viewers or not? Well it depends on how well its promoted, who the host is AND whether the stories are of interest to viewers

Seems so. :man_shrugging:

Hinch was extremely tabloid though, he wasn’t what this sounds like, but then again maybe it will be.

I think the flow is wrong, they could easily keep 1pm news and then tinker.

3:30 News National
4:30 Bold
5:00 Deal or No Deal
5:30 Local News
6:30 Between the Lines
7pm Primetime

I could easily see afternoons extended to an hour when Neighbours wraps, but I just can’t ever see them exiting the 5pm hour or half hour.

Their news brand is news at 5, has been for a long time. It would be like suggesting the other networks move their flagship bulletins from 6pm.

Deal going up against the other far more pooular gameshows wouldn’t be ideal either.

They’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

Moving primetime down 30mins does open the opportunity to do local news at 9pm :eyes:

What if BTL is at 7pm.
3.30pm 10 News Afternoons
4.30pm Bold & Beautiful
5pm 10 News First
6pm DOND
6.30 Millionaire
7pm BTL
7.30pm Reality

This thread is now bordering mock schedule territory, but they’d never go at 7pm as it would get annihilated by ACA.

Also, wouldn’t expect to see Millionaire back as the stripped Hot Seat format either.

The initial adverts for Hinch in 1988 implied it would be more like this (hard hitting), then fizzled out to be as you said. Tabloid.

According to The Australian’s Media Diary, the new program is slated to debut on Monday July 14.

Carrie-Anne Greenbank (from Nine) is the latest signing, with Seb Costello in talks for a potential gig.

Does the article name the show?

No it does not.

Carrie-Anne is a big signing.

After she quit Nine last year, she followed her partner to East Africa.

Big names if true and much sooner than I expected.
Is Carrie Anne tipped to return to Australia or take on a correspondent role?

Said it once, I’ll say it again.
ALL THIS BEFORE A BRISBANE CONTROL ROOM. :winking_face_with_tongue:

You could add Adam Hegarty by the sounds of it. The Australian saying he is not happy with 60 Minutes.

All these reporters for a new half hour show four days a week. Seems like a big waste of money. Surely there’s more to this.

Add to that the big gaping hole Sunday’s at 6pm.

Perhaps two reporters per night - and on a rotating basis? And if successful enough, it could go to five days a week i the new year? Obviously all speculation at this stage. As we are only getting some basic info coming though the media.
