Narelda Jacobs Returns To Perth To Host Local 10 News Weekend Bulletin.
From Saturday, 18 April At 5pm AWST On 10.
Network 10 today announced that journalist and presenter Narelda Jacobs will return to Perth to present a reinstated local 10 News weekend bulletin.
Narelda returns to Western Australia after taking parental leave following the arrival of her baby daughter with her wife, Karina.
A familiar face to Western Australian viewers, Narelda brings more than two decades of experience in broadcast journalism with Network 10, including more than ten years presenting 10 News First in Perth. Most recently, she presented the national 10 News First Midday bulletin from Sydney.
From April, Narelda will lead the reinstated local weekend bulletin, bringing her experience and connection to Western Australian viewers every Saturday and Sunday.
Natalie Forrest will continue as the weekday presenter of 10 News Perth, ensuring audiences can rely on the strong and familiar leadership that has helped make the bulletin one of the state’s most trusted news services.
Narelda said: “After six years presenting national news from Sydney, I’m excited to be coming home with my family. News doesn’t stop breaking over the weekend and I’m thrilled to be able to deliver it live and local, to the west from the west.”

This is a very interesting move - mostly that the weekend edition will be locally produced - is this the first time since 2011, or was Perth’s weekend edition always presented from Sydney during the news revolution era?

Judging by these uploads, it looks like it was presented in 2011 during the news revolution.
However, it returned to Sydney upon the other local editions being axed. The localized bulletin itself was axed in 2014, before returning in late 2018.

Well why on earth is the former Midday and Afternoons presenter doing Perth weekends, just after they put a new presenter in the role? She’s under contract, they need her to be doing something.

Well, they always need more than one presenter. We don’t know what the personal situations are. TV networks are flexible these days and many newsreaders and reporters job share so that they can keep working while raising families.
