Ten News Presenters and Reporters

Given that viewers didn’t know she was returning, as there was no promotion of it, I wouldn’t say they “embraced it” people would have just assumed Tiff was still reading.

It’ll be interesting to see if the ratings hold up

Brief pause in mat leave (again) to return to the news desk tonight. So wonderful to see my colleagues and still be home for bed time stories. If anyone needs me - I’m back in the rocking chair :baby:t3:

Harnsle Joo was terrific on today’s broadcast. A star in the making.

I thought Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan’s attack at 10’s Jess Maggio was unreasonable, unprofessional and all-round awkward.

I heard Allan’s verbal attack at the reporter during ABC 7pm bulletin tonight.

The reporter said “you look disinterested”, which is unnecessary personal commentary.

The premier did roll her eyes prior to the commentary.

Exactly. And even if it was misconstrued, Allan still did that at that moment and it looked bad, any other journo might’ve thought/done the same. And worse, instead of leaving it at one quick correction or pull-up, Allan just went to ground and doubled-down, going on and on and on. So bad IMO.

I mean seriously, it is a media conference, what are they all even doing there then. The reporters don’t go out to these often remote, isolated, obscure sites, to be belittled and ridiculed like that, to waste their time. The highest state office and I’m sure Jacinta will not like looking back at the tapes tonight.

Commenting and observing on the body language of politicians has been part of journalism for decades.

Elyce Holden used to work for 7 News Queensland. 10 should second her back up here. They could really do with it. Elyce here is probably the best presenter SCA has had in a very long time.
