It’s good news but I feel the damage has already been done.

There’s probably an element of this being Ten’s way to give something for Kate to do so they can keep the meteorologist on Melbourne weather permanently.

I think this is a bad move. Why waste money on a local Adelaide bulletin when so few people will watch. If anything, I think Ten/CBS should make further cutbacks in news so they can reallocate money to areas they actually do well in, such as their reality shows.

It’s better than nothing. But why do it from Sydney? They don’t have the capacity for Brisbane now they add Adelaide. Why not do it from the other studio in Melbourne?

Anyway, at least Perth, Melb and now Adelaide will get proper bulletins. Sydney and Brisbane continue to get the bastardized versions of local news.

Will this be live or pre recorded from the Sydney Studio?

Unfortunately, I can’t see this gaining any traction in Adelaide.

At least Melbourne will now me be fully live, but over all it’s a mess.

Let’s hope they can have a weather presenter in Adelaide so they can do live crosses and engage with the community.

Debatable if they even do well in that area these days.

Only because Brisbane still rates (somehow).

More Qld stories in standard time bulletin than NSW. And the sport focuses more on Brisbane teams. It’s woeful.

Thank god Melbourne will return to a proper live bulletin.

I was questioning why Kate never returned to Melbourne’s weather. Good to see that Adam will stay onboard though.

Quite interested to see how this will be done though. Will they be creating a smaller-scale set in Sydney for this?
I also assume that they’ll be sharing Matt Burke and Josh Holt somehow (even though Melbourne could’ve done the same thing).

If only they could’ve done this in Adelaide /dreaming.

Unless they’re prerecorded the whole Adelaide bulletin from 1.00pm (from the Sydney set) they must be constructing an offside studio set and presenting area.

If this is the case they’re going to need a seperate crew to operate the localised bulletin. Which makes me think, why couldn’t they just move it back to Adelaide???

Very good news. Unlucky Brisbane who gets a combined bulletin unlike all other states. I assume Melbourne will become standalone?

Also it seems the bulletin will be presented out of Sydney.

Doubt it’d be done at 1pm. Wayyyyyy too early. Might as well keep it as it is otherwise.

I’m guessing the Adelaide newsroom doesn’t have enough space for a proper studio now that they’ve moved buildings.

No I don’t think that would be the case.

I’m very sceptical about this. Something just doesn’t add up.

I can also see them not creating a full Adelaide bulletin… but rather a 10 minute localised news insert with Kate, then back to a Sandra lead bulletin.

where does it say melbournes goingto be fully live?

It doesn’t… but with Melbourne no longer producing the Adelaide bulletin, you would assume the Melbourne bulletin will be fully live for 90 minutes. They now have the ability to break news live from 5.15-5.45 that was originally prerecorded

Also, the story rundown between blocks is now more flexible to swap and change if needed.

This makes me think it’s not a full bulletin:

Yeah I’m getting this impression too… only speculation but I can see Adelaide (and eventually Brisbane) news eventually being lead by localised prerecorded news inserts. Sandra will lead the national portion of each bulletin.

First stepping stones to a full national bulletin.

From the article:

Martin White, 10’s Head of Broadcast News, has convinced executives to return local news to Adelaide.

I doubt they’d need to convince the executives to cut jobs if it were in fact a national bulletin.
