Chris Bath also does the weekend Perth bulletin.
You’d think they would get Charlotte (or Chris) to do Fri-Sunday.
Not really. It’s easier to fill the newsreader seat than the host position. The Project doesn’t have Tarsh Belling to use anymore and Rachel Corbett got a new gig recently, so maybe they aren’t using her anymore. Plus, Chris is great in that format.

also a tidbit - it’s small but noticeable, we have a long weekend, no mention of it at all, surely some small mention could’ve occurred to make it look like it was trying to be local (no mention on friday or thursday).
And another thing, on thursday, Narelda closed the bulletin stating it was an honour to present the news with the details of the Claremont killer.

Obviously that’s how Ten sees The Project. What other explanation is there for that show escaping any news/current affairs department cutbacks of significance relatively unscathed?

They’ve had others cover finance, Gillian Bowen often does it too so wonder why they preempted it today? Probably figured they could make up the 90 seconds with a another national story or something.
The 17.55 update probably could have done with a reshoot. Few minor slip ups caused her to run overtime and only get through about 3/4 of the weather.
They still used a chroma key, not the wall BTW.
I actually prefer Gillian on finance. As for just doing the 30 sec VO on finance today, I just assumed Josh’s absence was last minute, which would also perhaps explain why Amanda Jason wasn’t the cover.
For consistency probably, also the studio would have been being used for the pre-records.
