News from Sydney, Sport from Melbourne, politics from Canberra, weather from Alice Springs (or somewhere) - could make for a bulletin that had a broader national appeal.
Unusual for a Monday but good to see.
Lachlan Kennedy has presented sport in Sydney / Brisbane the last 2 nights.
Nice acknowledgement by Lachlan just then before the throw to the break of Sandra receiving her OAM honors today.

Friday May 31, 2024: Ange Bishop presenting Midday today
EDIT: Also presented the Afternoon bulletin
Candice on news in Melbourne tonight
I do know that Chris and Jim had a speaking/MC gig last night, hence her absence (Jim posted on his Instagram).
Narelda mentioned at the end of Midday that Ang Bishop would be doing Afternoons today.
Is this the 1950s?
Would the same question be asked if Lachlan Kennedy dyed his hair blonde?
That would be surprising, so probably. Men’s haircuts aren’t usually as obvious.
Sam Taunton’s hair was mentioned in The Project thread a few months ago.
The post wasn’t even negative. The gossip sites/magazines are much worse.
What is the problem? He posted a cap of her. He didn’t criticise the new look at all.
Zero surprise this (very creative) social media promo for Sydney’s news tonight was posted to the national pages on X, Facebook and Instagram.
Another example of 10 being very Sydney centric.

Funny how Sydney centric they are yet the ratings are dire.
It’s coming up to four years since the Ten News Centralisation was announced. I’ll always hold the opinion that merging the Sydney/Brisbane bulletins, and the Melbourne/Adelaide bulletins, as well as moving the Perth bulletin to Sydney, were temporary measures as the network grappled with the impacts of COVID-19.
Much like how production of the Adelaide and Perth bulletins were returned to their respective local studios after they came out of Melbourne and Sydney in the noughties. Let’s just hope the Brisbane bulletin is returned as a local bulletin by the time the 2032 Olympics arrive; I just feel that market is being neglected by 10 at the moment.
This centralisation nonsense is by far the worst decision Ten have made, in my opinion. Even worse than the News Revolution, the disgusting way Helen Kapalos’s sacking was handled and overlooking Sandra for the current late news bulletin combined (but those are gripes for another day).
Thank goodness they’ve seen the light with Perth and Adelaide though (and to an extent Melbourne, as although we kept Jen K and Quarters we had to share them with Adelaide). What on earth is stopping them from going back to a dedicated QLD bulletin? No-one outside of Sydney is interested in Sydney news and the ratings clearly show it (not even just on Ten, it’s a thing with all the networks).
Overlooked? She was probably not in the running for a number of reasons, notwithstanding the fact she likely wouldn’t have given up 5:00pm for the late news.
Wanting something to happen and reality are two very different things.
It has been outlined in these threads several times, but the costs in getting Qld set up again (equipment upgrades etc) is the reason and the huge outlay required means returning to a Qld presented bulletin is cost prohibitive at this time.
