Ten News First Content and Appearance (2015-Sept 2020)

I wonder if we will see the return of the 4pm Facebook bulletin with Sandra Sully again this year… no word on anything yet as far as I can tell.

Sandra’s been back for what - 2 days now?

Must be ready for holidays again sometime soon… :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks like I spoke too soon, today’s online bulletin:

Good to see the 5pm news actually rates a mention during the FB bulletin now.

Part 2 into Jonathan William’s exclusive report to air tomorrow night.

The Facebook bulletin didn’t go anywhere all summer… Natarsha Belling and Amanda Duval read it.

I’ve just checked the Ten News Facebook page and the last Facebook online bulletin that was uploaded before today was on December 15th with Sandra Sully. Not sure where you’ve seen them?

I could’ve sworn I saw them as well… I too remember seeing Belling and others reading it.

You’re both right, just checked the Ten News Sydney Facebook page and the boffins there have been uploading them there not to the Ten News national page and sharing them across the state pages as they did previously and again today.

Another TEN fail :smirk:

Can some one help me, im trying to figue out how the Prymount Studios are layed out
if you can roughly draw out on the map how each set is laid out

Is Peter Meakin still employed by Ten? If so, what exactly has he managed to achieve since joining Ten? With only one bulletin to focus on and The Project, surely his influence should have seen changes of some kind. Sydney has taken a pounding in the ratings since The Chase began.

Time for Ten to focus on news again. Only having one bulletin a day is obviously going to impact on the Ten news brand. IMO Sully and Riminton have never really clicked. Sully is Ten News so no fear of her going anywhere unless Seven throw the cheque book at her.

Yeah! So far nothing to try and develop the standard of Ten Eyewitness News. I see no point in changing parts of the set in different states when not enough changes are made to the quality of the news. Back in the day, the way Ten did news brought class to the game, that’s what won the ratings - baseline, integral journalism. From my point of view, Ten Eyewitness News is dying and unless anything drastic is made to the condition of the brand I’m not surprised if we see it either axed or reduced to updates throughout the day. Stop changing the bloody sets! Hire reporters, advertise somewhat more and get serious Ten (no pun intended).

“Ten Eyewitness News” is a tired brand. Seemed cool at first (bringing it back) but its just worn out.
Bring back Ten News At Five.

I don’t think a name change will affect the ratings.

In a ratings sense it will not be affected, but just in my opinion, in general I don’t like the current brand.

If you ask me, Ten have far bigger issues to worry about than the current branding of their news.

haha good point :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep. 99% of the nation would be oblivious that the name even changed.

They just need to go back to their roots; The pre-2011 era news offering. Classy and comprehensive. The Eyewitness News brand is good, maybe some people aren’t a fan of the name specifically, but graphically it’s still the best out of all the networks imo, and it’s already coming up to being 3 years old!

Keep the brand. Keep the sets. People don’t really care.
Dramatically increase online presence. Develop decent app(s). Add local 9:30 news. Continue to focus on hard journalism. Advertise what makes Ten’s news different from the others.

If the ratings rebound after a while, add more bulletins. And once something is working, leave it!
