From what I understand, there is someone out there creating fake accounts using the 10 brand. He also had the 10 News Queensland Instagram account…

Correction - There was an individual that created the 10 News First Queensland Instagram account that was not working at 10, I didn’t mean to imply without evidence that they were also responsible for the Darwin posts.

Ok long story so here we go… sometime last year we were talking in the forum about the 10 News QLD Instagram page and how it wasn’t active since 2014 and how they should revive it. Anyway… come December i thought well seems they aren’t going to do it anytime soon so I created a new page @10NewsFirstQLD - just posted updates, bits of content, weather bytes, bts etc. Now here we are 8 months later Channel 10 Instagram msg the page direct asking who’s behind it and how they want full access to the page. So be it it’s their content but at the same time they have a history of just letting things go and not being active anymore and I would hate to see that happen. I’ve since emailed them back saying I would be happy to discuss the page with them. So we will see what goes from there.

Update, so handed over the password and account details & was offered to come for a tour of the Pyrmont studios(which i have visited in 2015), but asked if possible for work experience at TVQ or Pyrmont as i have family in both cities.

I would say it’s actually Channel 10 or SCA, the page has gone live with 10 content before and at press conferences where a microphone is visible.

A number of recent Nine stories have had 10 mics visible in some shots

Of course it was fake, follow the money - who would be spending the money to fund such a venture? Ten has no presence (why would Ten spend cash for no return?), Nine already fund their own bulletin and SCA don’t spend a dime over the bare minimum.

Unless that page is not by 10/SCA?

Was just about to say this also.

I think the page is legit, there is original Darwin news type content, they are posting the FB watch bulletins direct to the page and they even went live with a feed from the Sydney bulletin when the incident happened the other day.
