i’d say the rebrand might have been the works for a while, and they got it to say 10 News just in case it took a while to make

Well it’s usually Seven watermarking something Ten had as an exclusive first, so i argue that this is karma.
So, the usual logic was that this was done to stop other networks thieving the video, but my understanding is that’s changed in recent years and it’s to stop news aggregators (our friends at the Daily Mail for example but there are others) and Footy social media accounts ripping the vision.
Occasionally it’s for exclusives but nowadays usually it’s to highlight who shot it originally when video can be ripped so easily and you can assert some copyright over it or at least advertise your brand.
