From what I can recall, the debut episode rated north of 500,000, but subsequently the ratings went south, triggering the timeslot change.
Things didn’t improve after that, and by October the show would become history.

The quality of that show was very very good. It wasn’t tabloid and quite high brow for a show on commercial tv. The country were never going to take 10 seriously when it came to current affairs.

This would have been their last look in Sydney, prior to them moving (in 1997) to their current facility.
Where was 10 prior to Pyrmont?
From what I can remember, they were based in North Ryde in the early 90s, then briefly moved to Ultimo before settling for Pyrmont in 1997.
They were in North Ryde from 1965-1991 before Global TV bought the site. Today their studios at North Ryde are apartments just like the former ATN-7 and TCN-9 studios.
Thanks for that.
Do these windows at Pyrmont still open like this?
They were often open during the morning and 5pm news during summer in the 2000’s. It’s hard to tell these days as the set blocks the view.
They seem open during this set construction video 5 years ago:
Late Eyewitness News bulletin with Anne Fullwood from 21 February 1994:

Sydney promo that seems to be also teasing the rebrand to just Ten News?
Almost 23 years to the day when the first ever 10 News New South Wales bulletin was shown across the Australian Capital Territory after the latter lost its very owned local 10 Capital News bulletin. Note that this edition of 10 News New South Wales features Ron Wilson welcoming viewers in the Australian Capital Territory for the first time.
The reason that 10 Capital News was axed is because of poor ratings as well as the upgrading of equipment to be used for Digital Television (Then relatively new in Australia).
Was 10 News at Five on Xmas Day of 1998 (Friday) a National Bulletin (If so, would’ve Aired Local Time in Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland) presented out of New South Wales by George Donikian or was that particular bulletin only shown in New South Wales and maybe Victoria with all other markets (Western Australia, South Australia, Australian Capital Territory and Queensland) continuing to air the usual Monday-Friday state-based bulletins?
Can’t remember 1998 specifically or arrangements at Christmas but for at least a few years around that time if Easter happened to fall on a weekday most (maybe all) of the country would get the Sydney bulletin. It was the normal hyper local Sydney edition with Ron Wilson and Jessica Rowe complete with Sydney title cards, detailed NSW weather, traffic etc and not produced for the national audience at all. I think eventually after a few years they started tailoring it for a national audience on weekdays.
Was this the Good Friday or Easter Monday bulletin? Got vague memories of watching Ron Wilson and Jessica Rowe present the ‘Sydney’ bulletin in Melbourne/Victoria.
Can’t remember for sure but likely Good Friday.
10 News: National Late Edition for January 25 of 2000 (Featuring some of the On-Air look that launched the previous November)
Note: This aired five or six days prior to another full 10 News relaunch (The last one before January or February of 2005) that saw 10’s respective South Australia and Western Australia 10 News at Five state-based bulletins (Expect for the Sport and Weather segments) presented out of the 10 studios of Victoria (South Australia bulletin) and New South Wales (Western Australia bulletin).
10 News at Five Queensland for August 11 of 2000 (Note two of the Six Network IDs can be seen in this recording (Sparklers ID at the beginning (Straight after The Bold and Beautiful?) and the Cycling ID at the end following a promo for 10’s evening schedule for August 11 of 2000).
