I see that 10 and 10 Drama are airing the same show right now but it’s different season and episode numbers. 10 are very innovative with their scheduling, aren’t they? :winking_face_with_tongue:

Seems the same thing again right now instead it’s 10 and 10 Comedy. 10’s cupboard must be pretty bare at the moment.

Its nothing more than just plain laziness from 10 with scheduling shows across the board during the day.

No show should air on two channels at the same time, particularly with different seasons.

On another note, what 10 will do in coming weeks when The Late Show with Stephen Colbert finishes up? It airs roughly at the 11.10pm mark most nights of the week. We have seen ratings for 10s Late News and 10 News+, and they seem to rate well enough (10s standards). Not sure how the Late Show rates. Perhaps a Lingo type show will air in its slot?

It seems that 10 is not the only one doing this on their channels as this morning at 4am, I noticed at the same time on ABC Family and ABC Entertains that they were both playing Star Wars Young Jedi Adventures but different season and episode. So, it seems the ABC is doing it too. :confused:

They were showing MasterChef Australia repeats after the late news last week so it could be testing the waters. In the TV Lounge on TV Tonight, I saw this comment which would be a good idea, but I highly doubt it will happen.

With the devastating loss of Colbert in a month, I’m wondering what the chances are of one of the networks picking up Kimmel?

Encores of their 8:30pm shows could be the option here. Eg the 8:30pm Sunday Night moght air at 11pm on Wednesday night and Mondays might be Thursday nights at 11pm. We know 10 is no stranger to airing umpteen repeats of the same show each week

The thing is they already do this, but in primerime 9:30 slots (cheap seats, gogglebox etc.) At least if they just repeat whatever was on at 7:30, they dont even have ro rhink about it and it’ll be consistent year round.

I just think its sad that we all know the best 10 can do is encores, regardless of what.

I’d support a rerun of some long running dramas. Start with secret life of us at 11pm, after 3 months itd be prisoner every night,

I would love for 10 to do more, but at present the current owners dont want to spend money on a fourth ranked network - but seem to think sports like NRL is a magic bullet. Ideally 10 would have reality, light entertainment, US Procedurals and News from 7:30pm each night - however, 10 seems not willing to invest - possibly see it as flogging a dead horse - but the dead horse won’t get up and start performing until you make an effort.

What you have said might work, but do viewers want to see the same shows each night - if so 10 could very easily encore Days Of Our Lives and Young And The Restless from around 11pm weeknights

In Hong Kong, TVB Pearl repeats old dramas at late night weeknights and ratings have been quite good. The difference is that these shows were produced in-house.

It may be difficult for 10 to do the same, given it will need to deal with various production companies who hold the original rights.

I didnt think of having Aussie Dramas occupying the late night slot. If rights are available, of course, it may work. Especially for the local content quota. Secret Life Of Us, B Rush, Five Bedrooms, and even soapie Breakers, can get a potential airing.

I mean yeah it would be cost v ratings i guess. We know News+ gets about 60-80k, so that would be the lead in for whatever decision they make the 11ish timeslot into either way.

Freeze! We Shot A Telemovie.

Police Comedy Cop This Wraps Production In Melbourne.

A squad of Australia’s finest comedians assembled in Melbourne last month to film the telemovie, Cop This, that will premiere on 10 later this year.

Created, written, produced and co-directed by Ed Kavalee and starring over 40 of Ed’s big-name buddies, this comedy feature takes place on Grand Final Day and is set in a suburban police station about to be replaced by an AI ‘Terminal’.

On the last day of operation, the station’s two remaining cops (Nicolette Minster and Ray O’Leary) are tasked with babysitting a drug dealer for 24 hours.

Headlining Cop This are Nicolette Minster, Ed Kavalee, Ray O’Leary, Rob Carlton, Tony Martin, Dilruk Jayasinha, Toby Truslove and Gary Sweet.

They join a veritable who’s-who of the Australian comedy scene in a massive ensemble cast, including Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann, Dane Simpson, Celia Pacquola, Rob Sitch, Josh Lawson, Violeta Brau Mugica, Dave Hughes, Ash Williams, Anthony Selemidis, Lizzy Hoo, Tommy Little, Ben Knight, Claire Hooper, Ryan Moloney, Lawrence Mooney, Dave Quirk, Amy Ruffle, Tiana Hogben, Firdi Billimoria, Ryan Shelton, Oliver Clark, Mick Molloy, Nick Capper, Bron Lewis, Marsha Vassilevskaia, Sonia Di Iorio, Rob Lloyd, Tom Gleisner, Kate Langbroek and Grant Denyer.
