Ten Network - Programs and Schedules (2015-Apr 2025)

Probably to take advantage of that fact Drew is touring in australia

Good to see The Drew Barrymore Show having a FTA airing here. If it is in fact at 11am, that means no more Dr Phil? Or is that being “bumped” to 10am, replacing Judge Judy and some cooking show?

It’s time that Dr Phil went. It was axed ages ago.

FBI will still have six episodes remaining in the current sixth season when it is rested (this Sunday is episode 7).

It was originally an hour when it debuted in 2020.

According to Wikipedia (I know not the most credible source):
Beginning with the 2022–23 season, the show was reformatted into two half-hour segments that could air either contiguously or separately. With the new format, select CBS-owned stations air the first segment of Drew as a lead-out to new half-hour local 9:00 a.m. newscasts, with the second half of Drew airing later in the day and/or on their [duopoly].

KCBS in LA has two separate half hour new episodes listed for yesterday, and WCBS in New York has only one new half hour episode listed.

A better schedule has begun to emerge. A bit more new content or FTA first run. Adds some depth across the week. It won’t be long lasting until they regress to the endless repeats.

I was going to suggest the Kelly Clarkson show for 7 on weekdays at 2.00 for something new ….

Good schedule overall.

If 10 had another series which alternated with Gogglebox for the 8:30 Thur slot for half the year that would really add some great consistency.

First run SVU must have a very rusted on loyal audience, depsite its noted declines the past decade or so, the studio keeps pumping out seasons, 10 keeps prioritising them, viewers keep watching and the show keeps appearing in the ratings rankings, even if only a couple of hundred thousand live broadcast viewers or less. Not convinced they’re all Over 40s either, I’m sure it appears in key demos and has a decent amount of Under 40s too, maybe more in catch-ups.

I wouldn’t say this is necessarily true, the show has not been treated well over the years at all.

It has been delayed, changed nights, bumped for Gogglebox, they don’t hold streaming or catch up rights etc.

They persist with airing it as a legacy program of the network and it obviously does have somewhat of a following - but like all networks 10 have treated viewers with contempt with this show.

Even in its high rating days during the 2000s and early 2010s (think it peaked around 2008 and 2009 with S9 and S10 respectively with like mid-1m metro broadcast ratings and often topped nights) it still bounced around timeslots a bit.

It was a victim of content censorship/classification, sometimes they’d play out of order if one was deemed MA and the other M, while other times they’d edit for 8:30pm or if they couldn’t edit it without disrupting the narrative etc too much they’d delay until 9 or 9:30pm, which was it’s original time in the early 2000s IIRC. Obviously it is the more graphic/darker series in the franchise (with regular child abuse and sexual violence thematics - albeit handled meticulously and rather restrained being a network commercial FTA show in the USA).

Think it ended up settling on Wednesdays at 8:30pm. I’m sure there’s some here who’ll remember specifics and have promo caps to support.

10 (with foxtel) should also consider starting gogglebox a few weeks later so we see them commenting on some new shows. I love it, but the whole first half is dedicated to MAFS and Survivor every year.
Same with the second season, very Block heavy.

Not a bad question to be asking, but also fails to mention that the 10 have tried all sorts of Sunday timeslots - including at 7pm.

TBL went to 6:30 Sundays in 2014, Celebrity was 6:30 Sundays in its first two years in 2015/16, with weekday eps at 7:30pm.

In season 3 in 2017 Celebrity went to 7:00pm Sundays.

MasterChef was also at 7:00pm Sundays in 2017, though reverted back to 7:30pm the following year.

Sunday Project has been airing since Aug 2017 hence why 10 never tried anything else at 7pm on Sundays thinking they’d fixed that slot, and since Dec 2019 the news went to 90 mins on Sundays.

Knox also wrote a similar piece at the end of 2022, also quoting Mercado and Vickery.

Also, Ten have no interest in showing first run drama.

The ABC seems to be the only place to get free Australian drama these days. Well, anything scripted really.
