Ten Network & Paramount+ 2026

Well, there you have it. All three major networks have presented probably the most lacklustre upfronts/showcases this century. No depth or new variety, just the same old (and less of it quantity wise) and nothing to address their own problems (Nine’s gaps between MAFS and The Block, Seven’s problems against MAFS and The Block and 10’s woes all round).

Somehow each was more dire, underwhelming and uninspiring than the one it followed.

Would be a huge shame if this doesn’t return. One of the better and more unique reality formats of the last few years, very entertaining.

Australian Commercial Television is currently in cruise control. Same same.

The problem is and it’s especially relevant for Nine, is that most of the current formats are still rating well so there’s no room or need for new formats. Basically all of Nine’s year is still popular (MAFS, The Block, Lego Masters etc) and same with 10 ( I’m a Celeb, Survivor, MasterChef, The Amazing Race) where most of the year is strong still so there’s no room for new formats. I personally think they should rest some shows (Lego and I’m a Celeb) and make room for new formats.

Did you mean Family Feud Australia OR Family Feud USA OR were you meaning Wheel Of Fortune Australia?

Yeah both 7 & 9 have shows that perform well so they don’t need anything fancy, 10 is who needs things and they have done it by having some shows (although most are old shows returning)

Andy Allen was the sole representative from MasterChef Australia at the upfronts.

He’s a Queensland guy yeah?

No, Andy was born in NSW. He and his wife Alex now live in Melbourne.

I don’t see what the big deal is. Do you think every show needs to have the whole cast there?

Good that the new global head was there and affirmed support for 10 in this market, hopefully they invest more.

News is where I think they need to invest more. Preferably a mid-late morning news bulletin and a news bulletin somewhere screening at 6am, 6:30am or 7am

How long can you make 5-10 shows go in an ad?
