Supermarkets and Retail

In light of what’s happened with Mosaic Brands, I bet Premier are glad to get those businesses off their hands.

Myer needs work but. They probably need the expertise from Apparel Brands to help boost the Margin at Myer. I see the Head of Apparel Brands is the ex Head of Buying at BIGW. Myer just lost its head of buying, so that could work out.

Priceline’s new branding debuted today! 🩷💚

And, red is in!

Looks more pink to me!

But it looks nice…

Pink, with some red influence in the branding now, like in that gradient above

Looks very Officeworks, which makes sense, since their owners purchased the Priceline business in 2021.

I noticed in the weekly catalogues this morning but i didn’t want to say anything and risk sounding kind a fanboy.:grimacing::joy:

I’ve got to say i like the sleek new look. The red looks a bit out of place.

Don’t worry, pink is still a very predominant colour 🩷

The red seems to be an accent of sorts at times

It looks good like that. But i meant the pink-red gradient looks… funky.

Although my local store was just renovated and has the new look branding i’ve really only seen the pink and green colour scheme with black shelving.

Retail conglomerate Wesfarmers has defended its record profits amid a cost-of-living crunch as its chair accused political leaders of failing to acknowledge the value big companies have on the economy.

Wesfarmers, which owns Kmart, Bunnings Warehouse, Officeworks and Priceline, announced a record $2.6 billion return after posting a $3.6 billion profit before tax.

From today, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank is imposing a $2.50 fee for cash withdrawals completed over the counter in its branches.

To offset this new charge, Bendigo has revealed that it will be changing other fees and charges.

The $6 per month service fee for Bendigo Everyday Account holders will be scrapped, and the $4 transaction fee for services conducted at the Post Office will be lowered to $2.50.

Concession Card holders can continue to make withdrawals, deposits and balance enquiries free of charge at (its) branches or Bank@Post as normal.

Surely this is 95% of anyone who actually does over the counter withdrawals, other than for large amounts?

The only time in my life I’ve done an over the counter withdrawal was at a small Bendigo bank in a town that didn’t have ATMs - but if $2.50 fees help keep those community banks viable, then they seem pretty justified.

That monthly account fee was actually why I left Bendigo - so their offering now is much more competitive.
