Supermarkets and Retail

Again, not my favourite or untested in those types of foods.

I have tried Betty’s in Perth, at Forest Chase, was not a good experience. Oh well.

Thanks for the suggestion. I would go again there, just for the bus ride :stuck_out_tongue:

So I went passed St Collins’s Lane, level 2 and 3 are closed now and it looks empty. I went there last time I was in Melbourne. A few times, I’m assuming Covid and Hugh rent killed the place?

I don’t think they do. I have the app and have never seen that feature on there.

The Rewards app in comparison is fantastic. Everything is instantaneous. I purchased something less than an hour ago from Woolworths and the e-receipt and points are already there (and were there one minute after I made the purchase).

What’s your type of cuisine?

I have been meaning to get the Flybuy points as well, I do use my Rewards card if I remember. :stuck_out_tongue: I keep forgetting its in the app on the phone.

Today, i was out shopping, and, i found this old Coles Express petrol brocure

The brocure was in the pocket of the back seat of my car

What was Shopfast.com.au ?

Online Grocery Delivery

Okay, just checked and Shopfast was an online grocery site that got swallowed up by Coles

Wow. Who would of thought there was online grocery delivery way back in 2003…

Both Coles and Woolies started offering online shopping in the 90s - and there were a number of other players who came and went over the years.

It’s popularity has grown in the last 5-10 years but it’s been around for a long time.

Not on any channel next week. Maybe to give staff a rest

I stopped shopping at Coles after a very poor experience where Coles said it a Flybuys isssue and flybuys said it was a Coles issue. No one willing to own it…. I might be a smallish shopper but Flybuys will no longer benefit from me as a customer. Woolworths EDR Extra is a far superior program (even after they reduce from 3* to 2* for using everyday pay )

Darrell likes a collab it seems.

Didn’t realise with the latest Curtis Stone BBQ collection you can redeem it online (not on the app though) pretty sure you used to have to go instore.

I wish the Everyday Extra perk could be added online .

Not sure if anyone has noticed but Target is exiting its entire Homewares range, and replacing it with Anko. The whole lot is currently 40-60% off.

I really fail to see the point in the Target brand if they are going to slot in Anko everywhere. I was in the other day, it really is quite a pointless store, they seem to have already got rid of all brands outside of Toys snd Appliances years ago anyway, the latter which is also getting the boot to be replaced by Anko.

It’s interesting as BIGW has really had a higher ratio of brands in its range for the best part of 50 years. Good to see they haven’t followed the other two and gone all no name cheap shit.

I noticed on NYD my local target looked like an empty shell with everything on sale and hardly any stock.

Isn’t Anko Kmart’s brand?

Target to start selling Kmart’s Anko brand products

Target will start selling some of Kmart’s Anko brand products from the beginning of next year, the retailer has announced.

As reported August 2023

Target stores basically only exist where they were doing well enough to stay open, but too close to a Kmart to rebrand - so people will have nearby Kmarts and be in Target to avoid that stuff.

Target’s unique position in the market for me has been that it’s higher quality than Kmart, but not as expensive as Myer, so bringing in Kmart stuff just diminishes that brand segmentation for nothing.

I think they’d be better off just selling nothing and expand out other categories than bring in Kmart stuff.

Assuming it’s just replacing their own branded products? Save on duplication?
