I’m used to IGA stores just being those bigger than milk bar but smaller than supermarket type stores in the city and suburbs. However yesterday I went down to Mount Martha and the IGA there was ahuge supermarket, so it is a good point that the same branding exists for very different stores.

Just remembered there is also an IGA Express in Sydney on Elizabeth Street, opposite the Downing Center law courts. It’s like a larger convenience store.

It was sold to Glorious Sun in 1994, who then sold it to another company Howsea in 2017. Now Howsea’s owner is buying it out of administration.

That’s one way to write down a company’s value and close stores without being the ā€œbadā€ guy

Are you a regular customer on your visits to the city for court appearances? :stuck_out_tongue:

I used to work a block away but I have also been incessantly called up for jury duty there. Five times in about five years. I’m seriously considering making a complaint of harassment. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

In Victoria there’s a two year limit I believe but only if you’re selected. You must look dodgy and keep getting passed over.

I’m not that shifty looking…much. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Three times I was waiting to be selected most of the day but they picked the juries and didn’t get the chance. I have been selected twice.

I had to be excused from the first trial because I knew one of the witnesses. A workmate in my organisation happened to be driving along and witnessed the assault, so when they read out the list of witnesses I had to tell the judge and he excused me.

The last time, I was on the jury for a murder trial. Visited the crime scene and listened to the prosecutors bit then there was a mistrial. Another juror researched the case on the internet and admitted it to us which is against the law. She was dobbed in to the sheriff, who told the judge, who decided that since the trial had only just started and was expected to go for 3-4 weeks, they would start over again.

I think this means I can’t be selected again for at least 3 years.

The first stage of Adelaide Airport’s major expansion of the current terminal opened today. It includes six new stores, including a combined Lego/Kaboom toy store (the second store in the country after Sydney Airport). It is run by Lagardere and totally separate from the Lego Certified Stores which operate at Doncaster in Melbourne and Bondi Junction in Sydney.

Unforeseen potential side effect of coronavirus spread especially in China.

Argh!! :confounded:

The money poured into this expansion hasn’t helped the airport get any additional flights, with the same or reduced domestic and international service compared to the last few years.

There are some days of the week this month and next where Adelaide only has 4 international flights a day.

It’s pretty funny that the ex-pats from China - where bidets and water jets are traditionally used to clean the bum - are the ones who are hoarding all the toilet paper.

The only concern which I have is the hoarding of hand sanitiser, because that stuff is potentially very useful.

The Spotlight Group is set to buy Harris Scarfe from receivership.

Are people that concerned of running out toilet people amongst all things? Geez.
