Supermarkets and Retail (2015-2025)

I’d say the supermarket would be throwing out those cartons with cracked/broken eggs. Better to throw one out one carton with a number of cracked eggs rather than a few cartons with one cracked egg each.

If it’s a small crack and not broken and spilled out into the rest of the carton, I think it’s worth saving the rest of the carton.

I’m not sure what the supermarket staff would do. Would they try to save a few cartons by replacing s few cracked eggs? Or would they not bother and just chuck out all the cartons with one damaged egg?

The other problem is that different cartons may have different use by dates which would be the concern I would have but if the dates are the same and the same kind of eggs who cares but they would budget on a certain number of breakages I’ve never seen them try and sell partial cartons however but usually the cracked eggs stain the cardboard so it would not be in saleable condition unless they provide clean egg cartons so it’s probably not worth their while so just throw it out.

The last dozen of eggs I bought had an egg stuck to the carton but I bought it anyway. When I tried to retrieve the egg, a small crack developed in the bottom of the egg and the egg white began to drip, so I quickly tipped the carton and the egg over the bowl so as not to spill the egg yolk and white.

Australia Post launches new talking mailboxes

Sounds like it would be more annoying than anything else. Australia Post should concentrate on their core duties and making sure they deliver letters and parcels properly instead of putting unrealistic demands on their delivery drivers so they don’t have any time to scratch themselves so everyone gets carded so they have to go to the Post Office to collect their parcels etc.

As part of the trial, Australia Post has opened two Australia Post Parcels services available for customers in Victoria and NSW, one in Fitzroy and Waterloo.

However, there are plans to open further dedicated parcel centres in Chadstone in Melbourne, St Leonard’s in Sydney and in the Gold Coast.

I know we’ve always joked about Northland being rough, Norflands (or Norflandsmate) or Slumland, but this is ridiculous

Victoria Police said the man who allegedly drove the stolen SUV through Northland yesterday had been arrested. An electronic key reprogramming tool was seized during the arrest.

We often hear how supermarkets treat suppliers. Aldi has a history of smashing small enterprises that are not even connected to the German retailer.
