Sunrise (2020-Feb 2025)

Any reason why Blake couldn’t just present local Melbourne News inserts from HSV7?

Was that a new background behind Beretts today?

I guess because they don’t exist?

Quite good coverage of Brisbane flooding this morning though with both commercial breakfast shows it seemed that the Sydney shark attack was a bigger story

Sunrise found an effected street in Brisbane early, Today turned up later in the same place.

Looks like they are trying to address Melbourne.

I notice Nat is trending on twitter/x after her interview with Jim Chalmers this morning.

And not for the reasons she would want

Stupid opening question… then she had nowhere to go really but continue with the dumb questions. Simply, there was no story … the tax cuts decision has been made, there’s nothing more to say until we hear from the opposition.
Disappointing from Nat.

News-com-au and Daily Mail love writing up her political interviews. Not this one though it seems

5am start to Sunrise this morning with breaking news of King Charles’s cancer diagnosis.

Uhh, sounds like good business to me? 100 ticket giveaway is huge, given the demand and hype.

Fairly common tactic to give a short term boost. “Buying viewers” can get out of hand though if there a bidding war develops with Today!

I see Today are promoting $200 fuel vouchers this weekend.

I was going to say, you’re doing well if your network sends you overseas for 6x 2-3min live crosses!!

Or rather if the Colorado Tourism department has the funding to pay an Australian network for 30 minutes of live advertising across a weekend…

According to Sunday Herald Sun’s Fiona Byrne, former 3AW mornings host Neil Mitchell is set to return to Sunrise in a weekly spot. And Collingwood legend Peter Daicos has inked a deal to be the show’s inaugural “AFL insider” for the 2024 season, and will appear once per week.
