Seven had a comprehensive win on Sunday with ABC’s main channel ranking second ahead of an underperforming Nine. With cricket finishing abruptly in the afternoon, tennis on Nine’s main channel finishing early and on 9Go! Late, there are a lot of adjustments expected to the preliminary numbers.
Seven News got Seven off to a good start 160k ahead of Nine and winning all markets. After that ABC was number one at 7 with news then two British dramas that were at least 100k of the closest competition. That saw ABC record its highest Sunday share since August 2020.
The third test’s final sessions were all over 500k to dominate the afternoon’s viewing. In prime time Seven’s BBL was one of the lower rating games of the last two weeks but still stayed above 300k.
Nine’s coverage of the United Cup concluded with an early finish. Nine’s 11.4% main channel share was it lowest since the night of the 2021 AFL final. That was made up for by 9Go!’s Adelaide International coverage that saw a late finish and a 5.1% share, the channel’s highest in 18 months.
10’s line up unusually saw five top 20 entries with the 7pm entry for the new look Project the network’s top entry while the 6.30pm portion made a rare appearance along with the 6pm portion of 10’s news.
