In a big night of television, Seven’s coverage of Day 3 of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games topped the 7pm timeslot with 964k for the highest result for the Games so far. Later, the Night segment from 8:30 PM also did well with 822k while later from 10 PM the Late segment had 406k.
MasterChef’s much anticipated episode featuring Meghan Markle had 738k, up almost 100k week-on-week for the best Sunday result of the season and third highest overall.
That was just just ahead of the Lego Masters Bricktacular Season 8 Final that had 733k. That sees the 4-episode season average 696k in overnight numbers. Last season saw the Grand Final average 850k and 11-episode season average just under 800k.
For ABC, Race Around The World episode eight was steady with 454k. On SBS, the premiere of Paris Underground managed 134k.
Later, 60 Minutes was up 75k to 576k while Watson edged higher to 202k. The second episode of Australian drama Treasure & Dirt: All The Creatures slipped to 343k after premiering to 522k the week before.
Outside of primetime, Morning Coverage of Day 2 of the Commonwealth Games had 302k with the Highlights averaging 441k. The Afternoon AFL included St Kilda’s win over North Melbourne and Brisbane’s big win over Port Adelaide and had 431k.
On Nine, it was a one-sided game in NRL Sunday Footy with a big win to the Sharks over the Sea Eagles that averaged 510k.
Seven News topped the night with an impressive 1.557m ahead of Nine News that also improved to 1.413m.
Weekend Sunrise was almost 200k ahead of the competition at breakfast with 441k while Weekend Today had 244k and Weekend Breakfast 182k.
