Whilst we normally associate the press gallery photographers with political action, Alex Ellinghausen and Mike Bowers have been documenting the fires this summer. Today, they were on the hoses putting them out.

FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA

Foxtel is teaming up with Federation Square to convert the thriving Melbourne precinct into a live viewing site for the sell-out FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA concert this Sunday, February 16.

Foxtel’s broadcast of the historic benefit concert will be shown live and in full on Fed Square’s giant screen – the largest public screen in Australia – allowing thousands of guests to enjoy the spectacular line-up of local and international artists as they come together to raise money for bushfire relief.

In addition, hosts Eddie McGuire , Shaynna Blaze and other special guests will be based at the iconic Melbourne site where they will cross live to Foxtel’s purpose built studio within Sydney’s ANZ Stadium.

Foxtel’s Executive Director of Television, Brian Walsh , said: “Foxtel is very proud to be broadcasting this special event for all Australians, and delighted that our friends at Fed Square are joining us on this history-making concert. Adding Melbourne to the television line-up helps broaden the reach of this important fundraising event and enables Victorians who are also affected by this crisis to get involved.”

FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA will be headlined by rock legends Queen + Adam Lambert , who will be joined by a stellar line-up of international talent including global superstar Michael Bublé (exclusive live cross), Grammy award winning Canadian singer songwriter k.d. lang and Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer Alice Cooper.

These international artists will appear alongside a cavalcade of Australian music industry heavy weights including 5 Seconds of Summer , Amy Shark , Baker Boy , Conrad Sewell , Daryl Braithwaite , Delta Goodrem, Grinspoon , Guy Sebastian , Hilltop Hoods , ICEHOUSE, Illy, Jessica Mauboy , John Farnham, Lee Kernaghan , Olivia Newton-John, Peking Duk, Pete Murray, Tina Arena and William Barton .

Foxtel’s broadcast of FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA will kick off with a one-hour pre-show from midday AEDT, hosted from inside ANZ Stadium by Peter Stefanovic and Laura Jayes . Coverage of the concert will start from 1.00pm AEDT, and will be hosted by Rove McManus , Matt Shirvington , Deborah Hutton , Jason Dundas and Hannah Hollis , amongst others.

Seven announces three live sites to watch FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA

Channel Seven, in partnership with TEG Dainty and TEG Live, is proud to present FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA LIVE (AEDT) from ANZ Stadium this Sunday, February 16 from 1.00pm, as the music industry’s best unite to raise money for national bushfire relief.

Seven’s telecast of the 10-hour sold out concert will begin at 1.00pm with The Morning Show’s Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies kicking off coverage. Then join Sunrise hosts David Koch and Samantha Armytage from 5.00pm, as they take viewers well into the night. Seven’s Sonia Kruger and Sunrise’s Sam Mac will have the ANZ Stadium crowd and backstage covered.

Seven today announced three LIVE SITES across Australia in areas severely impacted by the recent bushfires that will benefit most from donations, with those local communities encouraged to gather to watch on the big screen:

7NEWS’ Mel McLaughlin will host the LIVE SITE at Club Narooma on the far south coast of NSW.

Lobethal residents in the Adelaide Hills can attend the LIVE SITE at Fabrik, Mill Square.

And the third will be at the Sarsfield Recreation Reserve in eastern Victoria.

Foxtel’s broadcast of FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA to go global

Foxtel’s coverage of this weekend’s historic benefit concert, FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA, will now reach millions of viewers around the world, with Foxtel producing international versions of the massive event for Fox Networks across the United States, Sky in the U.K., and TVNZ in New Zealand.

In addition, global music brand MTV will be broadcasting music highlights from the star-studded bushfire relief concert to all major markets around the globe.

Today, Foxtel also announced a two-hour cut down version of FIRE FIGHT AUSTRALIA will premiere on FOX8 on Monday, February 17 at 8.30pm, while a short selection of music videos from the live event will play across Foxtel’s music channels. Both the live and edited versions will also be available to subscribers On Demand.

7’s coverage is awful with the talent used especially the Sunrise hosts. Foxtel’s is much better.
