Southern Cross Austereo (Regional)

I live in Melbourne but I encourage all people who love good old fashioned radio to give Cliffs drive show a listen. 7 days left. I’m my opinion it’s how a drive show should be, music, a good announcer and good entertainment and relevant to regional WA. Ashame it will be Rush hour next year on a delay from Melbourne. And cliff a radio professional. Stream if you get the change

Very true. Leaving on a high is always better for your future. I hope they get picked up

Regional M’s going brekky 6-10am from next week. Assume they’ll only have one announcer 10-3.

Will be interesting to see what the bigger regionals do.

Starts the 20th, I’m told.

Wow. I’m not sure if that’s actually a good idea or not.

It’s good because it’s more localism. It’s bad because it’s obviously to do with more cost-cutting.

Probably a good thing because most regionals took the hub 9-3 before?

So was surprised to stream some regional Victoria Ms this morning and yes all going to 10:00 and doing a classic 9@9. So 1 announcer on workday 10:00 to 15:00. Al Dobie was on Victoria today - sounded good. I streamed WA yesterday and the guy who used to do Broome Breakfast is now doing workdays. Coasty

Coasty? He’s still Broome based and is doing at least Broome and Port Hedland workdays.

WA is a little different to the eastern states with breakfast now being one of two state wide shows (Michael and Angie for Bunbury/Southwest, Albany & Esperance and Robbie and Carly for all other markets). WA workdays are therefore local, generally hosted by the same announcer who was doing breakfast last year.

For the eastern states, I would expect that it’s the same announcer for Vic, NSW and Qld.

Is Al Dobie based on the Gold Coast or Albury.

And South Australia as well.

Is Al on GC workdays as well or has he gone to regionals only?

Pretty sure Al does breakfast on Albury the border with Lui and Al

Different Al. That’s Al Shield.

Anyone noticing that throughout the entirety of today that the Regional Triple M in Newcastle is taking the Sydney Metro feed or is it just me?

Not true. Nix was live and local between 9-12 for an OB.

Regional and metro stations (except for Perth) running the same Top 10s music feature.
