Exactly mate, I’ve said this all along
While in the Central West region I kept hearing promos for Neil Gill that featured an assortment of “celebrities” who I guess are meant to be ‘friends of the show’. One promo included Alan Jones and and another Don Burke. I guess he didn’t get the memo?
Unfortunately I kept hearing that during the ad breaks over the last week even if it’s Summers Greatest Hits.
On the subject of ads they really need to update their 9 News ads. It’s the same ad that’s been on for nearly a year and a half (or however long 9 have gone to an hour’s format with “local” news), and the lie about it being “Live and Local” (according to Sam Heathwood who voiced over that part) is as believable as a contributer for The Australian blabbering about Climate Change.
As of this week, Triple M Regional is back to running two separate music logs.
Despite this, it still takes a countdown that is heard across the network from Midday until after 3 before going back to separate logs until 4pm, which from then it goes back to a single log before separating again at 6pm for one hour, when “Rock Song Dedications” kick in at 7pm.
Is the Gold Coast still running a separate log?
No.
Indeed, I’m really enjoying hearing the 70s tracks again on Triple M Central Coast… a big improvement from that terrible log over Christmas.
Listening to the regional Hit network yesterday during the Australia Day public holiday, I noticed that Riley-Rose Harper from Hit104.9 Albury was on, I thought that daytime network programming comes from Townsville, not Albury these days?.
Also there are a number of errors on some of the regional hit stations in the program line up on the Hit App, it’s saying that virtually all the regional Hit stations take the networked Luke Lim & Maddy Rowe from Townsville after 9.00am weekdays, but a few regional Hit stations are still local in the mornings from 9.00am to 12.00pm, like with Indi on Hit91.9 Bendigo & Riley Rose on Hit104.9 Albury.
Julia “Jules” Greenhalf will join co-host Nik Stuart on Bundy 93.1 Triple M next Monday (February 3).
What happened to Amber Wheatland?
Hamish Carter is finishing up after 20 years on CFM/Hot FM/Hit South Queensland
I’ve never heard the station referred to as “South Queensland” before.
Reminds me of the Crushers
Presumably because the show goes out to Kingaroy & Roma as well? But it’s not like SCA to care about either of those markets.
Oh I didn’t realise Roma got that feed too… Thought it was just Kingaroy, Toowoomba, Dalby, Warwick and Stanthorpe. I always thought they got an “Outback” feed along with Mt Isa, Atherton and Charters Towers (though that is now West FM).
I’ve checked on hits website, and Mt Isa has it’s own local brekky show, Emerald takes Rocky’s brekky show, and Kingaroy/Roma take Toowoomba. I wouldn’t even have a clue what West FM does (I’ve never been in their broadcast area for at least 5 years, probably much longer). They haven’t had websites for years, and facebook for any resonate stations give no clues.
Atherton takes the Cairns feed with local ads. (edit: unlike Cairns, the Atherton website has Mt Isa breakfast announcer JB listed as 9am-12pm… along with Luke Lum from Townsville 9am-12pm… and Maddy Rowe from Townsville 10am-3pm. Your guess is as good as mine)
West FM is all out of Longreach I believe, network breakfast with the token 30 minutes of local content in the 9am hour.
Isn’t the show now networked across the Toowoomba/Warwick market plus Roma and Kingaroy? Kingaroy began as soon as RG tore 89.1 Power to shreds then when the Townsville hub was disbanded, the RG legacy within SCA pushed the Toowoomba breakfast to Roma.
Hilarious, what a joke they were. QRL’s delusions.
Great effort by Hamish. The wage freeze for such a proven performer wasn’t equitable and why should he reward them with another year at the same conditions. Toowoomba has been fortunate to have Hamish for as long as they have, he’s a huge success that most beyond the garden city wouldn’t know of.
Is the Hit102.5 Mt Isa breakfast show with JB, broadcast locally from Mt Isa or from Townsville?
Townsville. But JB does visit Mt Isa from time to time for OBs.
