SWM Appoints Shoebridge Knowles Media Group
Seven West Media (ASX: SWM) today announced the appointment of Shoebridge Knowles Media Group (SKMG) to define and drive the groupâs corporate communications and publicity strategies working alongside SWMâs existing team.
SKMG, a strategic communications consultancy established in May 2018 by partners Neil Shoebridge and Andrew Knowles, will commence working for SWM at a date to be advised.
SWM Managing Director and CEO, James Warburton, said: âWe are delighted to announce our partnership with SKMG. Having worked closely together with Neil and Andrew over a number of years, we know that their vast experience, understanding and enthusiasm for our industry will make a big difference to our business.â
SWM Chief Marketing Officer, Charlotte Valente, said: âSKMG will play crucial role as we continue to transform our television, newspaper and digital businesses, and pursue our audience-first content-led growth strategy. Their combined strengths will ensure we establish the right structure, strategies and processes to supercharge our team and realise our transformation at pace.â
Mr Shoebridge said: âWith strong and successful brands across television, publishing and digital, SWM is one of Australiaâs best and smartest content companies and a business with enormous potential. We are honoured to join the SWM team and be part of the transformation of the group and its future success.â

Between the success weâve enjoyed with them in the past, the privilege to work with the rest of SWMâs well-regarded leadership team and the opportunity to continue building one of Australiaâs most venerable media groups, this partnership just makes sense. We canât wait to get to work.â
According to TV Tonight, SWMâs current Director Corporate Affairs and Publicity Julia Lefort will depart tomorrow (September 11) after being appointed in February this year.
I meant the emojis with the little counter beside them
I know but as explained, they have been abused, so better off removing them.
I say bring back the signatures
SWM Chief People & Culture Officer Katie McGrath has written a new book Deadly Earth, which was published last Wednesday (October 7) by Hardie Grant. It is the true story of her parentsâ deaths (in their thirties) as a result of exposure to radioactive waste at their home in Sydneyâs Hunters Hill, as well as what happened to her and her siblings after becoming an orphan at age four.
Kerry Stokes has just been awarded an honorary PHD for Science from Curtin University for his works with Seven and Telethon.
The talks led to nothing, as a Seven merger with Ten isnât legally possible. However, the SMH points out that the fact that Stokes discussed a sale of Seven is an indication that he is looking to sell Seven West.
Interesting.
Discovery might be interested in a sister network for Three NZ now theyâve acquired that?
Oh god, here comes the speculation train⌠NBCUniversal
What would they have called it?
âViacomCBS10Seven Australia/New Zealandâ
Not this again! It will never happen! 7 will never be sold to a US company.
Wow would not have expected this. It would never happen anyway because of the strong ownership regulations in place.
Hard to imagine what 7 would look like after seeing only a glimpse of what happened at 10 so farâŚ
This wonât age well.
Haha no one else speculated about this except you by the way.
SWM and Taboola strike multi-year partnership deal
Seven West Media (ASX: SWM) today announced that it had signed an innovative, multi-year partnership with Taboola, the worldâs leading content discovery tool, to enhance activation opportunities across SWMâs digital platforms.
Integrated across all SWMâs relevant cross-platform assets, including 7NEWS.com.au, The West Australian, PerthNow and numerous regional titles, the partnership will drive the activation of a raft of different content experiences, capabilities and insight tools. As a result, it allows SWM to maximise traffic, grow subscribers and increase audience engagement across the network.
At this heart of the partnership is 7NEWS.com.au, which will be championing Taboolaâs content discovery platform. To respond to 7NEWS.com.auâs growing desire for better content personalisation, as well as the prioritisation of user experience, the partnership will also incorporate the âTaboola Feedâ product. This is a vertical-scrolling feed that enables users to access more of the content they love, such as feature articles or in-feed video. This experience mirrors how users consume content across social networks, encouraging them to stay on site longer by delivering a more relevant feed, better reflecting what the individual is interested in and ensuring users can find more of what they love on 7NEWS.com.au.
SWM will also showcase âTaboola Newsroomâ as part of the partnership. This provides SWMâs news editorial teams with unrivalled and actionable real-time data about content performance, as well as unique insights on trending topics from Taboolaâs publisher network. Taboolaâs âAudience Exchangeâ will round out the suite of services, offering an infrastructure that helps publishers manage and optimise the flow of traffic across their network of sister and partner sites.
Nicole Bence, SWM Digital Network Sales Director, said: âWeâre thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with Taboola, strengthening our digital portfolio and offering in market. Taboolaâs discovery platform will be a headline feature as we expand our presence in the delivery of branded content. With 7REDâs recent expansion into short form and native content production fueled by insights from 7REDiQ, we are now creating more content than ever before. This partnership not only helps us scale our production capabilities and delivery across all screens and devices but will create necessary efficiencies through the addition of Taboolaâs actionable data and smart insights into our eco-system.â
Adam Singolda, CEO and Founder at Taboola, said: âWe are excited to partner with a powerful media group like SWM, and work together to drive engagement, revenue, and audience growth across all of the various digital properties. There is a massive opportunity for premium publishers and content creators to engage with audiences in a way that is deeply personal and creates long- term digital relationships that are based on value and trust. We are looking forward to collaborating on the journey with SWM and power those âmoments of nextâ where users are open to discover things they may like and never knew existed.â

some of what was said is a pile of crock. 7 knew that Netflix and other streaming services was coming and should have done something about it ages ago instead of whinging about it now.
