Reckon this is the most likely thing that will happen (quoting from the article):
…doing some kind of deal with Seven West’s banks - either buying the debt at a discount or renegotiating the terms with lenders.
If Seven can significantly reduce (or even eliminate) their mountain of debt by doing that, it’ll give them more options going forward.

From yesterday, Prime West is believed to be close to finalizing a deal to buy the property for $74.5 million.

Buying Seven West’s property.
Not at all confusing

Really shows how much shit Seven are in, unless Stokes swallows his pride and bails them out. He is worth $6bn, and the SWM market cap is $130m. (EDIT forgot to consider the $500m in debt he’ll need to sort out
That adds up to $630 million. If Stokes can afford it, he could consider privatising SWM.

If Stokes can afford it
Exactly! Why risk losing the whole company

I’m surprised he’s still interested
Stokes might be better off letting Seven West go to the wall, that way Seven Group could move on without having to worry about the television network.

Seven Group
Seven Group without Seven.
Great choice of company names there. Hopefully it’s indicative of Stokes’ desire to retain the TV network.
As Stokes was racing home from his Colorado chalet…
Funny that the sick man just happened to leave the US ski resort as spring hits the northern hemisphere.

I wasn’t sure where else to mention this, but I came across the website for the UK division of Seven Studios: http://www.sevenstudiosuk.com/
Interesting merge of the union jack flag and 7 for the logo:
The “V” looks so much more elongated than all of the letters for some reason

Any chance of Peacock launching under the 7Peacock brand should NBCU buy out SWM similar to when CBS bought 10 out of administration.
If Peacock launches here, it will provide competition to Stan and 10 All Access as well as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

They would only be in administration if Seven were to be unable to pay their debts as they fall due. There has been no particular info to suggest this might be the case with Seven in the near term.

I think NBCU is deploying another strategy in markets outside the US. It has signed extensive agreements with Stan and Foxtel for its content. It would be highly unlikely that they would want to purchase 7. In fact I think it’s more than enough that one overseas network owns one of our networks. We don’t need more. It would be preferable that 7 remain Australian owned if possible. Nine managed to come out of the piles of debt a few years ago that almost sent them to the wall so surely 7 can sort something out.

True that. Nine had something like 3 billion dollars owed but now they’re smelling like roses. Hopefully Seven will too. We need them to reinvigorate themselves (in terms of management and programming) and provide quality content across different platforms.

Not sure how long it’s been, but there is also a joint venture between Beyond (creators of Mythbusters) and Seven, called 7Beyond.
Even though I always thought Seven owner Beyond anyway?

Was just watching My Lottery Dream Home an hour ago on HGTV America and saw the 7Beyond logo. Episodes were from 2017.

I remember in October 2012 Nine almost went into administration but came back stronger and won the ratings last year.
It isn’t a good idea for 2 commercial networks under foreign ownership here in Australia. Hope 7 remains Australia owned,
