Seven West Media

Not really a new partnership, just building on an existing one.

Can’t wait for the car segments during TMS, not.

Seven West is in a trading halt pending an announcement, and it is taking legal action against Bauer Media.

Great idea when they’re losing so much money and has absolutely ridiculous share prices…not

Well presumably they (7WM) want to complete the transaction, with its previously agreed price, instead of letting Bauer off the hook, who could now buy up shares more cheaply.

Reckon the legal action is also happening in light of Bauer shutting down their operations in New Zealand last week

I feel really sorry for Michael Beach, who will have the dubious editor of being the last ever editor of The Sunday Times in Perth.
Does this mean the editor of The West Australian, Anthony De Ceglie, will also edit The Sunday Times?

I’m sure a newspaper editor is in a good position to survive this crisis. I feel sorry for the people who have lost their jobs and can’t afford to pay the rent or buy food for their families.

The Australian is speculating whether former Seven part-owner private equity firm KKR might want to reinvest in the company, which would help to pay down its debt. The story is just speculation.

Channel 7’s Adelaide offices are up for sale, wow! For sale by expressions of interest until 29 April 2020. Anyone fancy becoming 7’s landlord?

I think Seven may lease back the building from the new owner? It has a great location (next door to Adelaide Entertainment Centre).

Great studio facility there in Adelaide. When did they move here, was it around 2006?

I think you might be right. Seven no longer own BCM anymore either, but are leasing it out to the Victorian Government I believe.

Surely they’re not moving again?? If they’re staying put, why would they prefer to lease instead of own outright?

Edit: Just saw the advert specifies that Seven has a long-term lease.

I’m not sure Seven has ever owned the property. In 2010, when the building was last listed for sale, Seven was paying $643,000 per year in rent. It is currently paying $891,530 per year and is billed as being in a “15+15 year lease”

So the initial 15 year term expires in 2022.

Let the speculation begin :sunglasses:

But now its “15+15”. So it’s not ending soon

Which means it’s a 15 year lease with the option to extend for another 15 years.

Seven never owned BCM they have always rented it per m2.

Really?
I swear they just sold the facility to the vic government.
